Prayers going out to this little girl and her family. Also for the tractor trailer driver who must be devastated.

First off this truck driver was trying to pass the buggy in an intersection. Maybe in Texas that is okay but no place that I know of is that legal. Second the driver being from Texas will never admit fault or feel bad about what happened. Nothing good ever came out of Texas.

i live in lancaster county pa, one of the largest amish communities in the usa, i have almost hit several buggies myself, esp. when they are turning left into driveways, you have no way of telling if they are turning or not, until its to late.. i am not defending the truck driver at all..esp from texas, it was probably an illegal immigrant driving the dang thing, i hope that the little girl will be ok, everyone just needs to be very careful you never know if the buggy will turn into a driveway or field even

It is too bad that poeple can not slow down. The whole world is in too big of a hurry. We all need to slow and enjoy our blessings.

CMH Rick - Have to disagree with the part of nothing good coming out of Texas. Mighty fine briskett and Lone Star bruski. Other than that they can keep the armadillos and Dallas Cowboys.

Most intresections are marked with a double yellow line indicationg no passing zones and even if they are not the stupid truck driver should have known better. But then again we have to look at where he is from.

My prayers to the little girl...May God heal your wounds with speed.....I hope the driver gets in trouble for this.... I hope he is freaking out.. People need to slow down around here and start to look before they just pull out, and not a quick look, then floor it! People don't take a extra second to look instead of being in a rush. Most people drive like they got a call from the hospital saying your mom was in a wreck and will die in 20 minutes hurry over!! If a car turns in front of you from the other lane because the car in front of him was turning. So they cut in front of you to not have to slow down. When one of you kills someone....I hope I'm standing with you to tell you great job!! Hope you like prison!!

People are in so much of a hurry any more while driving that they can't even WAIT for drivers in front of them to turn. Almost had someone take my car out head on this evening on a two lane--the huge "killing machine" SUV coming at me figured he was so important that it was perfectly all right for him to go left of center to go around the car in front of him that was turning right--he's apparently too good to have to be courteous and wait--and he almost hit me head on. Jerks! Slow down a little, back off the vehicle in front of you, and show a little consideration to others on the highway. I sure hope the little girl will be all right, recover quickly, and have a minimum amount of pain.

Sure would love to get a good picture of the dot numbers on the side of this truck. I was not able to locate a A R Trucking in Texas but if this is AR1 Trucking out of Edinburg Tx. they are not doing a very good job. They only have one truck and this is the second injury accident in the last 24 months.

I cant make an excuse for the driver but I was a professional driver and I way too often catch myself forgetting about amish buggies and that bugs me alot. Everytime I make myself remember i wonder what could have happened if I came over a rise at 60 and there they were. I hate to imagine how most others keep prepared for something like that and especially people who dont live near amish and get used to it. On the other side I think most amish know whats behind them or coming up especially if they are planning to turn left just like we did on bicycles as a kid.
