Looks like Mr. Walter E. Bailey finally got his long-deserved retirement a few days ago. The village of Raymondville will miss him dearly. Hopefully his predecessor will be just as kind to her customers and devoted to her work just like he was.
comments? What do u think of the new OIC? |

really think she is to young and not enough experience. and was wondering why the would pass over mike and melinda they have been there for a while now they should have gotten the job . I heard she got it because the postmaster over at houston pulled some strings for her she is some how related to him is the scoop I got

The OIC in Raymondville is Mike's Daughter. There couldnt have been strings pulled because Mike is not very pleased with her being there and from what i have heard told her not to apply for it but she did anyway. Walter himself wasnt too happy with the outcome either...he wanted somebody with far more senority then when he got the job there.
Mike already has a job as a GS-18 postmaster in houston and of corse wouldnt take the posistion for it would have ment a few notches down in the pay scale for him and Melinda is only a temp worker anyway but she did her job well. I want walter back.......I heard he is going to get married? |

No, Mike Beasley...the PM in houston, nothing to do with Mike the carrier.
And besides theres some rumors that Mike the carrier will be joining the US marines? and is it true that Walter is getting married? |

I think Mike Beasley only had a son. What is the new postmasters name?
|

Her name is Melissa Beasley.
|

not real sure but i was told she is Mr Beasley's daughter in law but in any event i still think she need more experience she should have to work her way up the ladder

An OIC (officer-in-charge) is a postmaster in training, not a full PM. I don't know who the real PM will be but from what it looks like that she will be OIC for a LONG time.
Postmasters are appointed by the Merit system standards..they usually pick higher-ranking OICs to be full Postmasters in level-13 offices like the one in Raymondville. She wont be there forever. |

Melinda wasnt going to get it anyway, she is only a temp worker, not a career worker. Melissa wont be as good as walter was of corse and the rednecks should know that and get over it and move on. there was only one walter bailey. but come on, give the girl a break. she will learn the ropes soon enough and also remember that melissa has the same amount of senority/experience as walter did when he became postmaster of raymondville...so theres hope for her.
And if Melissa herself is reading this...keep up the good work! do as walter, mike (beasley) and other postmasters told you. Keep your chin up. Remember you are the officer-in-charge, weare that title proudly FOR YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE IN TOWN! |

congrats Melinda! she is now the OIC of raymondville, thank goodness!
