A rumor is going around that he is getting married...he couldn't be gay...he was a good postmaster.
From what i have heard thru the grapevine, sounds like he and his wife will be the odd couple for sure though.
anybody heard anything else?

That is the first negative remark i have heard about walter lol. The times i have seen him be a smartass is when somebody did a dumb thing around him (same is very true for houston's postmaster). Like wht did he actually say to u?

but honestly why didnt they pick somebody with considerable EXPERIENCE to replace him ARRGH. that newbie they got in there now dosen't have a clue.

Walter ROCKS!!! I hated to see him go. Yeah he was a little bit of a smartass at times but wht do u expect from a guy that was in the USNavy...i served my time in that Service and u were hardpressed to find somebody there who WASNT a smartass lol. He was cool though.

I wish he haven't had to retire so soon, I thought he had a few more years left.
He always seemed to be hiding something inside him though, hence his "anonymous" stance on his personal likes and dislikes and everything else. Strange man but a good guy over all although he was a little tacky, but heck, so am I lol.

A rumor is going around that he was probed by the postal inspectors before he retired or something?

I am trying to say that the newbie is way to young and does not have the experience nor the brains to fill Walters shoes I was making a reference to the fact that older more experienced workers are being passed over so that some kids can take over I mean somtimes I think they have forgotten that middle age and older people like to work too

yeah now I get it and I agree. Sadly the retiring postmaster dosen't have any say whatsoever on who the next postmaster will be. Mr. Bailey has left some VERY large shoes to fill and she dosen't fit them. I know that Walter wasn't really all that happy on who was selected so go figure.
They said she is 25 years old? True?

I agree with you about a fast food joint...she IS Mike Beasley's daughter-in-law though and he is a good postmaster (u would think some of her father would have rubbed off on her) but he is always out of town when somebody really needs him.
Yeah, most in r-ville want Walter back and i dont blame them (minus his sometimes tacky remarks, but they were usually directed at people who didnt have a clue about anything anyway as Walt was known for hating any BS from anybody and let them know it), overall he was really good and actually knew a thing or two about the mail, I have NEVER lost a pkg from his post office when he was Postmaster, but i have before he became postmaster at that office and I also lost some pkgs from the Houston PO.
Somebody told me that one can work in the PO at age 18, I guess thats how old she is?:(
From what i have heard is the postal inspection service probed Walt before he retired? I wonder why.. it was a rumor I have heard and I dont know if it was true. And I wonder why this newbie had only ONE DAY of training?
Crazy town.

Walter was proof that the Passive-agressive personality disorder does exist. That guy had lots of mental issues. that nut relived his past, no kidding. but wht do u expect from a gov worker anyway?
But i would rather have him as postmaster then this kid they got now.

He had a big head plus a big ego but i sure liked the way he ran his post office...very efficiently and everything (for me at least) was right on time. I have lived in 16 different towns in 3 states and no other post office ever comes close to the excellent postal service found in his office. Hopefully some of that will be found in Ms. Beasley
Walter, if you are reading this, may God bless you and please take care of yourself and enjoy your retirement!

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Capricorn

With the imaginative Moon in your house of significant others creating deceptive waves with dreamy Neptune, it's one of those difficult days in which you could talk yourself into doing or thinking almost anything. You normally have both feet planted firmly on the ground, but now it's time to indulge in some delicious flights of fancy. If you do disappear into a world of your own, be sure to return to Planet Earth in the near future.
