sad but true.i was raised in pearsall in the seventies and it was an awesome small town one could walk everyday to danchaks and the other small stores.the schools were geat and had wonderful teachers but it has gotten really bad there.i have moved away too because didnt want my four year old to go to a school that isnt accredited on the task.well it isnt getting better there and isnt ever gonna be like the seventies and eighties.so i dont recommend living there either.i recently moved out for the better of my three kids whom are doing wonderfully elsewhere in tx.good luck and find a nicer place. NOOO wrote: These people who say it's a great town are probably the ones corrupting it. They want people to move there so that they can get more business for their drug selling and scamming people out of money. I was born and raised there since the 70s. Pearsall got so bad over the years and only gets worse because you have people running the city who are idiots and are losers selling drugs to kids on the street, hoes prostituting themselves to get a place to live or drugs, and even the PD is corrupt. Even the school system is corrupt. You have teachers who use drugs, school board that has no clue, and Administration that are only there to collect a paycheck. If you're smart and want what's best for your kids, DO NOT MOVE TO PEARSALL!!! Us smart people got out when we had the chance and live much better lives than when we were in Pearsall. Don't listen to these ignorants!

Don't listen to these ignorants! You're the ignorant one,I've lived here over fifty years, and do NOT know anyone that sells drugs. Maybe that's because I spend my time on other things. As for the school not being accredited, alot of it comes down to PARENTS not sending their kids to school. Everyone is ready to jump on the bandwagon and blame the teachers and or the the administration, when both you and I know that schooling starts at home. As for the accreditation, the kids that are bound for college are already taking college courses,so they will automatically be able to continue at that college.

Curious wrote: Why would you even considering moving to Pearsall? Husband got new job just east of Cotulla & have family in Boerne, hence want to get somewhere between Cotulla & Boerne, but not so far to drive to job every day near Cotulla. We already live in a small gossipy town with issues, so may be able to cope with the potential bad stuff. But we do have an adopted 9 yr with major issues already, so that's tough as it is without good medical/mental/school/church/f amily support.

Pearsall is the largest town between S.A. and Laredo. Look at the topix in Devine and Dilley and Cotulla and you will find that all the same problems arise in these towns also, if you want to find a place that is not expensive you could choose Dilley or Cotulla, but no Walmart, or HEB, or Hospital with a good staff (some people might disagree)but I have no problem, with our hospital if you don't like it you can ask for a transfer to S.A. and be off. Hope you decide and like our town and not be discouraged by people that choose to leave instead of staying and try to make our town better. Many people are willing to put Pearsall down, but don't leave. Maybe if they tried to help our town would be a better place to live for them.

There is crime everywhere you look, it is what you want to make of yourself. If you have kids, you attend functions in school have them participate in athletics and anything to steer them away from the bad. It starts with the parents, and the people they hang around with. That is if you are a caring parent. If you are a drug user parent, then expect the consequences, because that is what you are sowing, & that is what you are teaching them.

Look, it's really not as bad as some of these negative people would make it out to be. I moved here about seven years ago from up North and I can certainly say that there are worse places to be. Sure, it's not San Antonio, but I like how peaceful it is and the people are actually quite friendly. I've never felt afraid to go anywhere in this town. As for the school system, I have kids that go to school and have been pleasantly surprised. I'd say that the schools are probably better than Cotulla or Dilley, but not as nice as Devine. Just my two cents. Take care.

More and more illegals go there and have turned it into a drug infested version of little Mexico. It sux. There's nothing to do there, everything is outdated, and the place looks like shyt. I grew up there for many years and the town USED to be nice and peaceful way back then, but not anymore. The kids run the town and the parents keep getting younger and younger, and even dumber than before. So, IT'S NOT WORTH YOUR TIME NOR MONEY TO MOVE AND LIVE THERE!!!! Stay away if you can!!!

Dude, what's up with the fixation about illegals? The vast majority of the people in Pearsall are U.S. Citizens whose families have lived here for generations. It's useful to remember that Hispanics have lived in this part of Texas longer than Anglos (and I'm saying this as an Anglo). If you want to talk about a place with tons of illegals you need to mention Dallas, Austin, or Houston, not Pearsall.

i was born and raised in pearsall and loved it, until i started having children. there are alot of drugs and dealers, it used to be a very good town, we could go out at night and walk to town and return home in one piece. now it seems that you cannot leave your own yard. there used to be very good people running the town, a sheriff (sanders) that cared and took care of the town and it's people, once the mexicans started taking over all of the city and county offices, the town has gone to hell. i hardly ever go to pearsall because it hurts me to see this in my hometown.
