rumour is the man kicked his dog and so he stabbed him anybody heard anything about this?

I don't know what happened, but he loved his dog! If someone came in my home and kicked my dog, I am gonna beat the tar out of them. Still, my heart goes out to the deceased's family. My husband and I used to hang out at Doug's and play cards a lot. It is a shame that this happened!

I workd with him he was 1min n the he actd weird I heard he was bipola his wife left him if he killd him over his dog thats crazy I love dogs I wouldnt kill someone over it now he wont get to see his dog it isnt worth jail I would made the guy leave

Yeah, Doug has a special personality to say the least! I have never stabbed anyone, but if someone did something to my dog, and that was the only way I could get them out of my house, I guess I would handle the situation the same way. However, I am more about using my fists than weapons. That's why I don't have company! I prefer my dogs over 95% of the population anyway! I will protect my animals with every fiber of my being. Of course, this is so far only a rumor for the motive. Time will tell. We may all be in for a shock when the truth comes out!

I'm Debbie, Pat Dunlap, my fiance, and I were visiting Doug as we had many times before. They went outside to light the grill to cook some chicken and as they walked back in Doug grabbed a knife and stabbed Pat through the heart killing him instantly. All the dogs are ok but Doug's in jail for murder and my Patrick is in heaven. Pat and Doug grew up together, that boy spent Christmas with me , Pat , and my Momma last year in Bloomfield, KY. I'll never know why he did it, He just went crazy and if Pat hadn't falllen over dead across Doug he'd have come killed me too! Everybody loses. Thankx a million Horse Cave!

The events of March 24 will always remain a mystery. None of us will ever hear the full truth, because to tell the truth you have to be a person of substansce, and neither of the 2 remaining people involved in this crime are.

A dog, is not a reason to stab someone, ever. By all account's we have heard, the dog was a bit cranky to say the least... granted I dont know Doug and only know what I have heard. But I DO know that murder, in most any circumstance, unacceptable and I cannot wait for the day, that he gets his life taken away, Im just upset that it can be an eye for an eye sort of way, but if the remainder of his life being spent in prison is all the satisfaction I will get, I guess it will have to do.

My family lost a wonderful man, because of drugs, alcohol and adults who never grew up. I can honestly beleive that if my uncle could have gotten away from the circle he ran with, and women he assosiated with he, he finally could have become the man we all know was inside him to be.
Pat Dunlap, was a wonderful singer and songwwriter, played the guitar so well Bob Dylan should have asked him for lessons, he was funny, whitty and a great story teller. At times, a gigantic pain in the butt, but that didnt make any of us love him less. We miss him every day.

The only positive side that has come from this, is that he is finally at peace with all the things that were hurting him for so long.. His sons, and their family finally got to meet my family.. and we all got through it together. We shared wonderful memories of Pat, crazy things he did, music he loved, and cried.
He will forever be missed.
