even if you concede the point that looks matter- that still doesn't justify spending 100 bucks a month on some charlatan to tell you that you look nice.

News flash, its possible to look nice, and put together and not pay somebody 1200 bucks to tell you so. Buy a damn fashion magazine and figure it you yourself.

My snap judgment of her is that she is a freaking moron.

One could just buy the Garanimal line of business suits, if one still can't match their clothes in the morning.

Most of you posters are critical of her for being hip and fashionable. Who cares if she is being materialistic and like to wear new clothing? It is her money and if she can afford to pay the stylist then that is fine with me. It is not like she spent your money or she asked you to pay for it. You people are just jealous that she is hip and fashionable. Get over it.

I was always under the impression that "furloughed" was basically synonomous with "laid-off." Laid-off workers are, and always have been, eligible for unemployment benefits. For this individual my opinion is that in all likelihood she was probably "born with a silver spoon" in her pie-hole and has enough money backing her to continue a ridiculously, extravagant life style. Otherwise, I think she would have re-adjusted her life to live within her means. I was so sorry to hear that she might have to live without going out to dinner quite so often. How tragic.

Again, if you need a designer outfit to feel confident, then you sure as heck can't do the job you are applying for.

I own one suit...it has served me for 10 years and probably 20 interview, and it has gotten me at least 10 job offers. It isn't make in Italy, and it wasn't put together by some fashion consultant. Time to grow up and dress yourself, honey...

I agree! I am going to use some of my welfare check so that I can "look good" at the grocery store when I buy my cigarettes.

As a side job during the summer when I'm not in education I'm going to sell products from that guy from Eight Is Enough who is now doing infomercials. It's a coporate lie that you have to look good. I'm looking for a few good people to join my network and the only requirement I have is that you're fired up!

Yeah...I do agree that this article is based off of materialism. HOWEVER....it's 2009! Have any of you folks seen an episode of The Hill's lately? Young, hip, beautiful and semi-wealthy women hitting up the LA scene...I hate to admit it, but this is what MY generation aims to be...and yes, I'm under 30, and believe that Botox is just as important as getting your hair cut.

A suit you have had for 10 years and 10 job offers, does that equal 10 jobs in 10 years-1 job a year?

No, it means that I get offers from more than one place when I'm looking to change jobs. I've worked at 4 jobs over the past 10 years, and one was less than a year because the company closed.
