Sarah Palin could care less about you liberals or about anything you have to spew. She's smiling all the way to the bank with her millions while you stand in line waiting for Obama freebies. She's earning her millions. You liberals don't do anything for your Obama freebies except stand there with your tongue hanging out to benefit off the backs of hard-working Americans. Shame!
Smiling? I bet she's whistlin' Dixie all the way to the bank and shouting WOO-HOO too. Sarah has name-recognition most politicians would kill their mothers for. This thread isn't about Tim Pawlenty, is it? No-sir-ee Bob. It's about Sarah.

Though the twittering thing can go. My nieces and granddaughter twitter. There ought to be a law: no twittering over 30.

Ironically, twitter as a Web technology actually is the opposite of the usual trend: the earliest adopters were somewhat older, and it's tricked down the demographics. Go figure, I guess.

Funny you should mention that ... just yesterday, I was reminded of the days I used to have to carry a beeper ... all the way into the 90s. And I wondered, even back in the 70s and 80s, why beepers didn't have an inter-active keyboard. Too bad I wasn't working for Motorola back then.

As far as older people twittering, that's fine. The keyboards are kind-of tiny for these old eyes ... and arthritic fingers ... but any communication is better than the lack of it ...

Margie, I hear ya! I kept hearing "twittering" and asked, "What the hell is twittering?" I don't care about ANYONE enough to want to be in constant contact with them like that. I'm a keyboard typist and there's no way I'll even type on a smaller keyboard then a normal, everyday-sized one. Waste of my time. Not only that, don't you need to use a lot of abbreviations? Nah, no twittering for me!

I had to threaten to yank one of those devilish devices away from one of my favorite young nieces. We were having lunch! Her head was totally buried in that thing, yakking to her friends back in California. She apologized, so I know she's not a total little heathen.

Margie, I don't know if you've ever had a cell phone, but what became so important about a phone that you have to have it attached at all times? I have thought of a few occasions where I would have found one useful, but truly - there is no one I want to talk bad enough to that I can't wait until I get home. In recent years I don't even want to be on the phone for very long. I babysat not long ago for our son and the first time I did so, I was going to call the hubby to let him know I found my way over to their house okay. I went to look for the phone and there wasn't one!!! I then was going to drive back over to our house to let hubby know - and they didn't leave me with a key!!! When I was raising kids I wouldn't have dreamed of not having a phone at all times. I certainly wanted to make sure a babysitter would be able to contact us if something happened. The second time I went over to their house to babysit and demanded in advance that they leave one of their cell phones and a darned house key as well. One thing I was left with the first time was a list of all important telephone #'s. I suppose we should get up to date and have a cell phone, but as seldom as I would use it, the cost is just too much. Another thing is all of the different plans. I don't know where to begin to check out prices.

On another note, you're right about the apparent obsession to these darned things. Again, what became so important as all that. Another worrisome thing is seeing cell phones plastered to everyone's head while they're driving and not paying attention to their driving. If I had to use a phone in the car, I'd pull over to do so. We're having to be lots more attentive in our driving to watch out for those using cell phones while they drive.

I have seen houses that have no land-line too. Crazy. Cellphone networks aren't always on 24/7. Cellphones - I'd rather be left alone for several hours a day like you. Bothersome things. Ring ring ring ... while your going to confession or at the movies. I saw a woman driving yesterday, trying to execute a U-turn while chatting, and she hit the curb and dinged her car door on a tree. Serves her right.

I saw I guy shaving once, too ... what a fool.

I was at a 4-way stop one time. Everyone before me took their turns and as I was taking mine, some lady - with a cell phone glued to her ear thought she only had to stop and then go. Lucky for my vehicle she stepped on her brake on time. I stopped in front of her vehicle and made the gesture that she should GET OFF HER PHONE and pay attention to her driving. Even though I had stopped only momentarily, I did get the satisfaction of seeing her red face. I'll bet it didn't change anything though. That God-awful cell phone is so darned important.

I remember as a kid watching my elderly uncle having trouble with the television control and anything else with buttons. When I was left with the cell phone when babysitting, the only thing I was interested in were the "talk" and the "end" buttons. I didn't care about any of the other ones, lol! Oh! I also cared about the part that had to go to my ear if I made/received a call on it. I can honestly say now, that I've been on a cell phone once. Once!

Here's a thought ... I have one with a slightly bigger display and key-pad, which helps with older eyes and arthritic, ancient fingers. And it's a less complicated model (because I have no intentions of using it other than as a phone).

The benefit? It makes me feel safer when I am out-and-about, driving by myself, esp if I'm way out in the West Metro ... somewhere that I'm not extremely familiar with.

And I must hand it to the young ... the way their fingers just fly over their key-pads ... maybe we are just two old, jealous ladies. I just don't find the need to be in constant contact. Except on here. We both chat a ton on here!

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Scorpio

It will be easy to let things get on top of you today, especially if you're already feeling rather tired and listless. Do yourself a favor and keep away from anyone who often makes you feel a bit fed up or defensive, because they're the last person you want to be around at the moment. They'll make your spirits sink down to your ankles in a flash, and who needs that?
