I've recently seen the show on National Geographics called Doomsday Preppers. Seeing the show begs the question, just how many "doomsday preppers" do we have in the area? Maybe I was re-incarnated from the "great depression" era or something, but I've have always been one to stock up or "prep". At any rate, it's certainly interesting conversation with the way things are these days. Just made me curious what other people in this area thought.....

what things are you doing to prep? what's your theory? my plan is to have 1 year's worth of supplies for my family, and to be prepared to garden and home can foods for the future...also I have plans for preparing to live "off the grid"....alternate sources for heat, lights, etc.

I've already started stocking up firearms and ammunition, my next big thing is getting my year supply of food and water. For the food I'm going for bug out buckets, they are just 5 gallon buckets with MREs inside. I'm also thinking about getting water pouches like the navy use. My theory is really kind of strange, I believe it's going to be biological warfare, mainly zombie.... Yeah it sounds really stupid but that is my worst case scenario and I am terrified

My concern is economic collapse. Possibly major natural disaster....super volcano, polar shifts, etc. Not sure that there is anything one can do to protect themselves from biological warfare. How can you be assured that anything introduced into society would not effect you as well? What measures are you taking to protect yourself from exposure? Are you prepping for just yourself?

For me prepping for a biological disaster is the best way, it is the worst case scenario for the human population. I am prepping for me and one other person, I have started stocking food and water (using milk jugs) I feel an economical collapse is probably the best bet but I am trying to prep for the worse.

Your right in that general preparation is best....even just in the event of a natural disaster, such as a tornado...we certainly could easily have that happen. What specific measures for protection do you have in mind for biological attack? I would know what to do for a pandemic, but not biological warfare.

At any rate all of your preping will have been a waste of time in the end. When God says it's time canned beans and bottled water won't help you. The end is the end...

Your right...if GOD decides to end the world...that will be the end of it...but what if MAN causes civil unrest, with riots, or terrorist attacks or "dirty bombs"....there are tons of scenarios that could happen all caused by the human race. What about major desasters...such as hurricane katrina? If you pay attention at all, you would notice that our weather patterns are pretty out of wack these days. For things of that nature....those canned beans and bottled water would come in handy. nothing wrong for hoping for the best and planning for the worst. If God ends it...there will be no suffering. If you survive...without prepping...there will be suffering. You want to suffer, that's your choice...it isn't mine. Good luck to you.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Cancer

Today's Full Moon will have a powerful impact on your health during the next few months. Maybe this is the spur you need to inspire you to take better care of yourself, such as improving your diet, getting more exercise or finally consulting the doctor about something that's worrying you. It will also be the end of a chapter connected with your work, but don't fret because this ending will lead on to a new beginning.
