1 This other article does the same thing. I don't see a problem with "gangs" in Hawaii. It's more so a problem that is related to poverty and a lack of good jobs. |

The recent murder/kidnapping of Ben Grajeda on Kaneohe Bay Dr. was drug/gang related. The trial is coming up next month. http://starbulletin.com/2008/01/14/news/story... 2 Hawaii does have gangs. There are many, filipino, samoans, blacks, but not to the degree of our mainland counterparts. They are considered "baby" gangs, but they are still gangs. The gang population has gone down since the 80's, but they are still in existance. To say there are none would be silly. HPD has a gang unit that keeps track of gangs and its' members. Keeping them in-check has been very successful for HPD. Now alice, don't say that t-they are an inept bunch or what ever it is you say. They are doing a good job! |
