They aren't from here, so are not used to these political shenanigans (well, the guy from Chicago may be used to a different kind of game). Once they realize what's going on, they will do the mainland thing, and sue the city for millions. And I think they have a pretty good case. On what grounds?

Tandal has been so dedicated to the HPD and for people to just personally attack her like this is awful. She is highly qualified and would make the HPD proud, as Chief of Police. These "attacks" are not attacks...they are FACTS on how Tandal operates. Get real...the only dedication she has had is to her own self serving needs. I know this from personal experience; that's a FACT.

I wish SHOPO, under Mafala's leadership, would take a stronger stance against the PC and do whatever it takes to stop this sham from taking place. Seems to me that his statements to the media does not express the true frustration and disgusts of the membership that he is entrusted in reprsenting. I just hope that Maafala's obvious political support of Mufi is not clouding his moral and ethical judgement in this issue. Collectively, SHOPO should be leading the charge to have Camp ousted from the PC!! She is the antithesis of what the department strives to maintain among its ranks. Integrity, Respect and Fairness! Hah! Give me a break!

Hopefully, Councilman Dela Cruz will get to the bottom of this and move to have Camp removed from the PC and restore some integrity into the selection of the new chief of police.

I was kind of hoping AC Tatsuyama would step down out of the running and suggest Tandal do the same. Delbert is a good guy and he is just a victim here. I doubt Tandal would do the right thing and withdraw, she is too intoxicated with power.

I was talking to some friends assigned to 801, 219 and both 1100's and oddly enough, the phrase "Reign of Terror" came up without prompting when the topic of Tandal as chief arose. No one said anything to deny that phrase. If so many of those who worked with her say things like that, odds are that it must be true. By the by, the HRA is backing Kealoha, as they feel he'll do the least amount of damage on the 2nd Amendment front.

Hah! Give me a break! interesting to note the controversy this is getting. why is it that so many in blue have voiced (somewhat) their opinion? in my view, it can't be pay or working conditions, because its actually pretty darn good. what it comes down to is shety leadership and a previous chief whose appointment was highly controversial. the top four were picked by an independant selection panel because they were the best of the bunch! why add another two? by adding another two, what does that say to those who sat on the independant selection panel?(hmmmm buzzy hong and ron taketa) by asking for two more, you're circumventing the whole system. why not just say "screw it" with the selection panel and let the commission just pick from the list of 11????? and then if that's the case, why spend $50,000 in taxpayer money for the panel? this is a bunch of hogwash. its people who care for none other than themselves. mufi's running for governor, christine camp is likely to benefit from the rail system, someone else will get kickbacks, on and on and on.....

Absolutely Flim Flam!! It's very frustrating and discouraging that this whole fiasco will be yet another one that is swept under the rug and forgotten over time and those perpetuating it will go on with business as usual. Our city and state is so damn corrupt!

I saw Maafala on the news last night and it seems like he has taken a stronger stance against what is happening in this selection process. It was encouraging to see that his integrity is intact. He should take the next step and organize a demonstration by SHOPO to show the public how much the rank and file are disgusted with all the "politics" that has been plaguing our department for so long now. Integrity, Respect and Fairness. After all, isn't that what it's all about???
