Camp should resign for changing the rules after 4 officers had been selected. If the committee wanted 6 names, they should have agreed to six finalists in the beginning of the process. The last two finalists should also resign.

AND take the two add-ons with you! They should withdraw if they have any integrity.

I have worked in the past as a police officer with Commander Harry Markley of the Phoenix PD and he would be a good choice for the job.
Nothing against any of the other candidates - I have no personal knowledge about them.

I can't help but wonder what Chairwoman Christine Camp's qualifications were for this position. Sounds like some political maneuvering in the background.

She is highly qualified. She provides nightly turn down service.

Of course the fix was in. One of the last two candidates added will be selected chief because he is the choice of the Mayor. If Mufi had brains - which he doesn't - he would have arranged this graft in a smoother way. The committee decided the chosen one was unqualified, but given we are talking Hawaii, corruption prevails once more.,

If the selection commitee has their top 4 candidates why does the commision need to add on 2 more? i can see why everyone thinks that something is up. i say go with the 4 that the commitee selected, that is why the committee was put together, right? now that everyone knows who the top 4 are, there is no sense in keeping the bottom 2. unless, the fix really is in.

i really don't see how the police commision can give the job to the 2 add-ons after all this bad publicity. nothing against them, but everyone now knows who the top 4 are. and if one of the 2 add-ons gets the job, the public will know that they are not getting the absolute best person for the job as their new chief of police.

Now that is some major back-peddling by Chairwoman Camp. Looks like the commission got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. As the guys from ESPN NFL Live would say, "C'mon man!!!" The public is not that naive. You bet the fix is in. Now lets see if the commission is arrogant enough to follow through with it now that everyone knows who the true top 4 guys are.

Camp probably wanted a woman candidate in the finals, and one with a Japanese surname, so she could not be accused later of being prejudiced. It will be very interesting to see who becomes the next chief. Do the Mainland candidates really have a chance, since the Mayor said he is sure there are well-qualified candidates from within the department?

We'll never know. That would be too transparent, too open.

Daily Horoscope for November 25

The Moon blends well with Mercury, letting your intuition lead you to success. Go with a hunch today and see where it leads you; this is one of those times when your analytical mind will only get in the way. It may be a little harder to express yourself, but there's something to be said about using fewer words to convey your meaning.
