If the newspapers don't take the lead in making it a petty, partisan process -- then maybe all of Hawaii can rise for one brief shining moment and elect somebody beyond the political shenanigans that retard Hawaii as a mature, thoughtful and just place to be.

Don't you guys ever get tired of reporting about all the abuses of power and common sensibilities.

I hope they can find an honest person in Hawaii who can still rise above the petty politics that now dominate the culture and society of Hawaii.

Even a non-lawyer would be preferable to crooked lawyers, and those with impaired judgment.

We have the goofiest court in the country. A year ago, I would welcomed the opportunity for Lingle to make two appointments.

Now, after her disgusting performance over the last year, I'm not so sure. Her judgment and priorities have been horrible.

Maybe the best thing is for her to just leave a vacancy for the next Governor to fill. If we can do with an absent Governor, we can go without one member of a five member court (they would rotate judges from lowers courts on a temporary basis).

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Libra

Someone is convinced they're in the right under the Lunar Eclipse, and they don't care how they get their point across. If there's trouble in your neighborhood, get it sorted out by putting your thoughts down in a blog, or on paper. Don't let anyone, even siblings, treat you like this, even if you balk at standing your ground under this moody cloud. Travel plans may be upset, and spiritual pursuits, and dealings with foreigners or people of other cultures is subject to pressure too.
