1 If you believed in God, and that America was "one nation under God" would there be a need for a military and manufactured enemies? I think not! Corporations make money off the deaths of our military in false wars. Please put your energy into stopping this obscene action on the part of our government. Proud Code Pinker! |

1 Medicare is only affordable because it is going BROKE and does not pay for what the services actually cost. If you want totally bad CARE then yes, sign everyone up for medicare. Watch hospitals close, doctors not accept anyone on medicare anymore and forget getting any sort of new technology to aid in fighting disease. Be very careful what you wish for, you might just get it. |

1 Thank you Chief Master Sgt. Stanley Fernandez for your service to your country in Vietnam when so many in your generation -- the draft dodging, flag burning, combat veteran cursing Cry Baby Boomers -- scurried about this way and that like so many cockroaches, desperated to avoid any risk to their precious BEE hinds. Now you and all combat vets carry a double burden -- the cry babies of yesteryear and those of today as evidenced by Hawaii50 above, whose thinly veiled contempt for those who serve is obvious to all. God bless and keep you. America WILL survive these cry babies. |

Mr. Donovan, I resent the implication that Government is a slow, bloated, inefficient, bureaucratic, quagmire!
I can't defend it, but I resent it. Hopey, Peacey, Changey, xoxo Big Joe. |

1 since the government underpays physicians for Medicare/Medicaaid/ and TRICARE, how many of you would willingly accept a pay cut every time you provide a service or good for senior citizens, the poor, and military beneficiaries- both active duty and retired? Physicians do - but there is a limit to how much care they can provide at discount rates, and the "public option" will pay at medicare rates and will not attract physicians to provide the services. A better option would be to give physicians a charitable tax credit for the difference between their usual charge and the government-mandated reimbursement. All other businesses that do charity work get a write-off - but not physcians. |

1 I'd love to rain on your parade. It seems you didn't learn anything from 1938, when PM Chamberlain kissed Hitler's butt. I hope you know the rest of the story there. In Vietnam, we lost our will and ran, politically-speaking. We couldn't finish what we started. Resulting aftermath was about a million people being slaughtered and thousands of boat people. |

1 I'm of the opinion Chamberlain was buying time. Britain was in no position to challenge Hitler in 1938. They weren't even ready in 1940. |
||||
Chamberlain didn't want to deal with the reality, Churchill did. Personally BO and I don't either, that's why we're dithering on Afghanistan. Did I just say that aloud? Quick call the spinmeisters! |

Which is yet another example of why your comments cannot be taken seriously. Those who WILL not read, much less learn from, history are doomed to repeat the mistakes of their predecessors. It has been more than amply demonstrated time and time again that appeasement and weakness -- such as demonstrated by Chamberlain in letting Hitler sink his teeth into the Check Sudetanland in return for the Chancellor's "promise" that would be the last of his territorial conquests -- serve ONLY to invite aggression. And yet challenge them they did ... and (thanks to Lend Lease) successfully, too. Did you never hear of "The Battle of Britain" fought in the skies in 1940 that pitted the RAF against the mighty Luftwaffe? How can you possibly be expect to be treated as anything other than trivial fluff if you WILL NOT read your history? You must be a graduate of our sorry a s s e d public education system. |

Alice, a typical grad of our pitiful system of public education, is so pumped full of self esteem, misinformation and hot air her eyelids pop wide open whenever she bends to sit down. |

1 lol! Wow. If you knew any history and had a bit of background, you wouldn't drink the conservative kool aid so fast. You'll find a brain freeze all too common. |
||||
lol! Well, you got part of that right. Lend Lease did help quite a bit. But it really kept the US in a "neutral" position... at least for a while. As for the Battle of Britain, what's your point? The planes were literally rolling out of the factories and flying into battle. So it supports my assertion that they weren't ready. Add to that the pull back from France and the facts are clear. BTW, do you know what fighter is credited with saving the British in the Battle of Britain? And do you know why the Germans had to win the air war? Let's see what you're made of if you think I'm "trivial fluff" Gilligan. Let's see if you actually comprehend history and understand it instead simply regurgitating it. |
