The buzz out of Detroit re: CEO's use of private jets and flight crew...it's the symbolism. Three big private jets w/ limos waiting was a stupid move. What if these 3 drove their cos. respective Hybrids to Washington? It would take only 2 days, they could stay at a Motel 6, and compare milage once in DC. Could of turned the event into a positive marketing ad. Asking for $25 billion requires some sacrifice.

Otto,
If you look at the way words are used carelessly today (meaning they are used contrary to their original meaning), then that could explain the confusion most people have with what words really mean. Examples, Haole used to mean ANY foreigner, now it is used, for the most part, in a negative way towards whites. Gay, used to mean happy now it is attached to the definition of a homosexual relationship. Anyone could go on and on with examples.

I wonder if all the Liberals are concerned about our rights being taken away under Obama? I mean they accused Bush of taking away rights (that were not taken away and offered no examples) and here Obama is not even in office and we are threatened with our right to bear arms....great!

You're right with the assertion that "Haole" is sometimes used in a negative way. A similar comparison is that I've noticed hispanics do not like to be referred to as "Mexicans".

I have arms....no one has taken away my arms.

or my guns.

And I voted for Obama.

All I see is a bunch of "chicken little" wailing about nothing.

Exactly. You all have proven nothing. Again, prove what rights GWB has taken from you.

As to the right to bear arms.....wait. Your idea of change is no more than hype. Look at his appointees....no change.

True, just as not all Asians are Chinese. I think it is ignorance for some and in the case of back home, the haole connotation is more deep rooted based on some bad history with the whites. As for Hispanics, it's like with the Asian thing, not all Hispanics are from Mexico. There are a whole lot of other countries to the South of Mexico where our friends are from.

Try reading up on some things he has said about guns and bans in his home state...not Hawaii as some of you like to think he considers home. Some of the things he has tried to do to get guns banned and then come and talk to me.

I have proven nothing because there's nothing I need to prove.

As for the 2nd amendment, I guess you know more about what Obama will do that I do.. or maybe he does.

And as for change, I guess we'll have to wait for the switch. If you want to say the names are the same, that's fine. In some cases they are.

I guess your guns are more important than the economy or the wars.
