The opinion rendered by visiting Granolafornia Judge Wallace Tashima, of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, said himself, "I think frankly the plaintiffs are suffering irreparable harm."

"I think this case should be resolved as quickly as possible because there's nothing you can do to bring back the Furlough Friday after it's gone by."

That fork tongue opinion falls on its head with a "katonk."

"The changes made here are not changes in the educational placement of any plaintiff," said Tashima.

Oh yeah?

Try telling that to the students when they are not in the "educational placement" of their school on those Fridays you just allowed the State, Lingle, DOE and the HSTA to cheat out of.

That is just one stupid opinion.

Just goes to show, you can live in an Ivory Tower, recognize the travesty below, and not lift a finger to do anything about it.

The opinion by Tashima is worthless, does not remedy this atrocity and, in fact, encourages the State, DOE and HSTA to continue to callously collude to cheat their wards out of their education.

Every single last one of the DOE, from Hamamoto on down, and every single one the 81% of the HSTA union member teachers should be FIRED.

Lingle has just sealed the fate of Aiona in so far as he no longer having ANY chance of ever hoping of becoming our next Governor, as Aiona is now stained with himself too, idly standing by, and allowing this to happen.

These people are going to PAY. Too bad Aiona is going to take the political hit for outgoing Lingle.

Let the ruling classes tremble at a commmunist revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win.

What a stupid comment. No. It is not even a comment. Just stupid. Sounds like you did not go to school at all when you were growing up and, in fact, never grew up.

So, the way I see it if you never went to school, you were on "furlough" everyday.

And the result of that "furlough" is the stupidity you display.

(eh, that rhymed!)

OH Hawaii....In a few years the rest of the nation will refer to you as "stupid" and "ignorant". You continue to flush the best possible resource you have down the toilet and when anyone points this out all of a sudden they "aren't showing the spirit of Aloha". In the future when your population has all of the education of a basic idiot...please don't hold your hand out for money.

Judge Tashima, it seems your head is full of sand and you are living in the stone age. Who appointed you idiot to the bench. Must be Reagan because you have a
for dementia. Your ruling stinks just like you. Why don't you take a pay cut because you must learn what is like to struggle and I feel you are wasting our Federal taxes and should be fired.
Sorry, Smartman, it was Bill Clinton who appointed Judge Tashima to the 9th Circuit. However, it's really irrelevant.

See folks, even citizens on the continent know about this atrocity.

Shame on Lingle, Bennett, Tashima, DOE, BOE and you HSTA unionized teachers----go to hell.

Have HSTA take a 14% ( what Lingle wants ) pay cut and have them get back to classes to help the kids.

Judge makes a consistent ruling. He is bound by the law.

State, the people that own it and run it are wrong. We allowed this to happen. This did not have on the Mars or Venus. It happened right here. The fact that this matter is before a judge makes us look stupid as citizens. We are fighting our own government. We are at war with ourselves.

We are the enemy...We bring this upon ourseleves because we lack courage to make the changes.

We don't need a judge to tell us we are stupid. We already know that!

I could only wish that before people speak on forums that they understand the legal analysis used by the judge. It's a four pronged analysis -- irreparable harm is just one of the prongs. Thankfully not everyone can be a judge!

The real blame is with Lingle. She all but dared the unions to furlough or take a pay cut and that would prevent layoffs. Guess what, she's still laying off state workers so she lied. She should've just told the workers to take a pay cut and keep everyone in school. She gave them a choice so of course they're going to choose furlough. DUH!

We are not citizens...we are sheep. I feel that I let the kids down by not watching what was going on. We allowed our kids to suffer because we are lazy and we simply don't care.

This is our government. I have not done my part as a citizen and neither have most of you.

We are to blame...me and you

All of you here are all idiots.

Judges have to have an impartial and unbiased decision based on the facts and not emotions. The letter of the law dictates that.

It is the parents responsibility to make sure their children get a proper education.

Even without the furloughs, public schools in Hawaii have some of the most unmotivated kids!

That is the parents fault, boo hoo now that you have to be a parent and raise your kids for one extra day a week. You should be happy that your kids are away from peer pressure, bad influences and temptations.

Be a damn parent, raise your kids and teach them well.
