The influx of outsiders that come to the islands have raised the bar in crimes. In he 60's and earlier there were hardly any major crimes. Perhaps the new people should observe the calmness and serenity of the islands and set their lifestyles to adhere to their surroundings.

respectsplease wrote: please use this thread as a place to show respect for Masumi and her family --- there are other places to discuss the crime and punishment Good suggestion. I know the family will see your post and I’m sure Japan is watching this incident also. Such a sad situation. There is nothing that I can do or say that will make them feel any better. The whole family seems like really great people. Sometimes life does not seem fair. Looking down from high up maybe the higher powers can see something us little people can’t see or understand. My prayers go out to the family. Von

To Howard Lewis Lankford:
You were there at Masumi's Memorial Service. Why? The sincerest condolence deed you can do for Masumi's family is to get your son, Kirk, to tell the authorities where Masumi's body is. You may be the only person that can do this, otherwise your presence at Masumi's memorial service was a further insult to the people of Hawai'i.

I will not post on and on today, but I just wanted to add this and then I will be on my way. There is no doudt that the body was never put on the ocean and I previously posted to this in the past. He is lying about this because in his mind if there is no body there is no case. Many of us are not so stupid to fall for his story. It sees like he saw the Aruba story in the newspaper and thought our police department would fall for such nonsense. I have faith in our police department and this story is not over by any means. Love to all.

I wasn't at the memorial so I can't say how he behaved or what motivated him. But for face value, I don't think he was there to insult the family or the people of Hawaii. He probably attended the memorial as an individual to share respect as a human being. He and his wife didn't do the crime. What unfolded during the trial and his son's self-admitted behavior probably shocked him and his wife as much as it shocked many of us seeking justice. Under the circumstances, if the Lankfords are that fair-minded and seek justice accordingly then they are truly decent human beings. I would like to think his presence was a gesture to show compassion...being a parent himself. Like so many others who attended the memorial and didn't know the Watanabe's in person, they came to share compassion for a human being. So I think.

Our condolences to the Watanabe family. I know that the family will always remember Hawaii as being the place where their daughter where killed. I hope they will also remember the love that people here also have for them and their family. And that we are so very sorry that they have to go through this tragedy.

God bless Masumi and her family. The people of Hawaii are praying for you. May the rest of your lives be filled with only good luck, happiness, health, and fond memories of Masumi. All of Hawaii is deeply saddened by this senseless tragedy.
Thank you to HPD and the witnesses that came forward to link Lankford to this crime.
