Rainstorms set to soak isles, spur flood watch - Hawaii News

Oahu residents should brace for the "biggest rain producer of the winter season," which is expected to hit today and continue this weekend, according to a city news release.

I don't understand the analogy, but will carry my umbrella.

I hope the city has had all drainage canal cleared of debris occasionally. My aunt's house got flooded in 2006 b/c the canal next to her house had so much debris in the tunnel under the street, the water could only go upwards and over the sides into her yard. Cuttings from yards, shoes, plastic bottles, household rubbish were things found in the canal prior to the flood of '06.

Gee, last year was only 40+ days of rain during ho'olio (winter) and some people drowned on Kauai. First they grumbled about the rain; then they whined about the drought.

Be careful of what you ask for ... now even the tourists have gone away.
