A criminal background check (freely available online) resulted in no charges being filed vs. Kirk Matthew Lankford in the state of Hawaii for any crime other than the murder in which he is charged.

Either the charges were filed in another state's jurisdiction, or, he was arrested but never charged. Either way, "fits the pattern of a sexual predator" isn't even in the same continent that the facts are.

There is NOTHING to suggest that this crime was sexual in nature at all. Other than the shadows cast by the twisted minds of a few people in an Internet forum.

So, as is the case for the other guy, perhaps the sexual deviancy you charge him with is something you're guilty of. Where else you gettin' it from?

If this guy gets off.....he will "kill" again.
So he's guilty of pre-crime now also.

Maybe you people don't realize the value and intent of jurisprudence, and how CRUCIAL this is to our judicial system.

Innocent before guilty is one of the founding tenets of America's government. People fought and died over the establishment of jurisprudence.

It's absolutely shameful to their graves to hear people like this casting guilt on someone and proclaiming future crimes based on what, exactly? Are you some kind of prophet? Really where do you get your information from?

You haven't been keep abreast of the trial as it unfolds, have you? Have you been basing your conclusions on personal observations of testimony given in the courtroom? These people who have been monitoring the trial through newspaper articles have a right to express their opinions, just as you do. But do not condemn them for their opinions. Freedom of speech is a fundamental right they are exercising. Just as Lankford is exercising his right to a jury trial. By the wsy, the phrase is "innocent until proven guilty". Moreover, what is a "pre-crime"? Leighton is just expressing his opinion based on his observations and reading of articles. Lankford's testimony is disgusting and no decent human being would do as he testified. A human being has died and you worry about losing your job? You drive around for hours doing all sorts of errands with a dead body in your truck???!!!

No Aloha, you sure sound like you have a vested interest in this case. Would you happen to be on his defense team?

I would also not be surprised to read a book written by Anne Rule about this case.

To No Aloha:

Would you be taking this same position of yours if this tragedy happened to your daughter or grand daughter? What Lankford did to Masumi is surely "no aloha."

Read the following post by "Some One Who Knows Him" from "Lankford details Watanabe's death" discussion from the Star Bulletin. The writer is responding to someone who wrote about giving Lankford a chance.

quote:
Give him a chance to do what? Kill again? He is a sociopath and Psychopath. He would rather lie than tell the truth. I know him. I asked his father 3 years ago as I was packing my bags "What is it going to take, Howard? Does one of them (Howard has three sons, and only one that seems to have a conscience) have to kill someone before you take action?" This isn't the first time that Kirk has been in trouble. But is the first time he has been religious. I wonder if he has been hiding behind his church. I ask myself now, "all those nights when he disabled the security alarm and climbed out his window, what was he doing?" I am really surprised that his brother Ryan hasn't been in the news. These are not good people. They do not have a conscience. They are wired differently than most people and have been brought up to feel superior from other people with nothing to back it up. Kirk's father and I have had many arguments about his sons and their behavior and his lack of doing anything about them. He accused me of attacking his parenting skills. Howard didn't and still doesn't have any parenting skills. If you read this Howard, why don't YOU do the right thing and insist that Kirk tell the parents of that young woman where her body is so that they can bring her home? Oh, I forget. You don't ask your boys to do anything. They know what your expectations are. How many times have they not met your expectations Howard? And now my fears have come to pass. A young woman is dead. I hope they do lock Kirk up. This wouldn't be the last "kill" that he would do. My feelings and beliefs are, " Kirk is just getting started". quote.

Let us turn the tables. If criminals should pay for their sins with no mercy, how many of your uncles, cousins or aunties would have to spend their life behind bars?

All I'm saying is, let the justice system do its work without calling for the guy to be hanged. That's very unnecessary.

The majority of people are not committing crimes. Mercy is reserved for decent people who exhibit remorse. People who do not think more about losing their job than an injured human being. How callous! So self-absorbed and not worthy of mercy. Where was Lankford's mercy for Masumi? It is disguting that Lankford drove around for hours with Masumi's body in the truck. That is so evil!

I agree, let the justice system do its job. But you still did not answer my question. What would be your position if what happened to Masumi was done to your daughter, or grand daughter, or niece, or cousin or friend's daughter?

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
