Poorly reported and written account by this Nelson Daranciang, it's hard to figure who did what to whom.

Apparently the victim helped the wife, and then she was the one who handed a bigger knife to the attacker! She should be shot for that.

You're right, but it's not only with haoles - it's with everybody - locals too. Das why I just mind my own business. If something bad is going down, I just use my cell phone to call the police or to call for help. I would never step in and try fo' help one stranger. I get my own family to take care of. Another things - sometimes muggers use this kind of plan to "set up " their victims. Use one hot chick to ask for help with her car, only to have a couple of guys waiting in the backseat to kick your ass and rob you. Just stay away, and just use your cell phone if to call for help.

I don't know who is sicker - the husband for his out of control violent rage or the wife for enabling him to inflict severe injuries on this good Samaritan. They both need to serve a long time behind bars (no pun intended).

Even the cops are seriously careful when it comes to domestic fights. I agree you gotta be real careful.

The story doesn't make sense. He tried to help start the woman's truck yet she goes into another vehicle with other women. Husband came out to argue with wife and SHE gives him a bigger knife to stab the guy? Me thinks everyone was drunk or it was a set up. Did she know these women from the other car? If she knew them then why would she try to start the truck and not just leave. Or was she trying to get away from the 'Samaritan' because he was harassing her thinking she was alone. Can't intervene between domestic violence because the couple's rage will combine and channel their anger from each other to the aider. Better just to call 911.

Maybe the wife gave her husband a bigger knife because his "tool" was insignificant and lacking performance after she and her girlfriends came back from the Mililani Swingers Club! You'll never know what these "swingers" are capable of doing after "swapping" partners and one is not "satisfied"?????

Yeah, too bad the author of this piece failed to mention that Ramage was saying Hawaiians are worthless and dumb filthy animals while he was stabbing the victim.
Sounds like a hate crime to me. I think we should protest this. There is no place in our society for those of Caucasian ancestry to say racial things towards Hawaiians or vice versa. This is unacceptable, incomprehensible, and unforgettable.
I guess people only complain when its a Caucasian person who gets victimized.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see the results of this "brown vs white" case. The local couple and their son really got the book thrown at them when the "victims" were military and white. Let's see what the outcome is when the situation is reversed????

I of course wasn't there, but "Tahoma Ramage" doesn't sound like a haole name to me. How do you folks know that he is white?(Sorry if his pic was shown elsewhere that I didn't see.)

Where in the article did it say anything about haoles?? Most of the problems in Hawaii today are fueled by people who want to turn everything into a racial issue. How do you know they were haole, and what difference would it make if they were?? They were probably both just drunk and acting stupid...very stupid...so don't act the same way yourself by making unfounded racial accusations!

The alleged perps name leads me to believe he is not caucasian so why does this become a hate crime?

I'm just wondering if anyone has bothered to interview the so-called attacker or his wife. It seems to me that if the attacker's wife was beat up pretty badly that there is more going on here than the so-called victim is telling. If I had attacked some guy and his wife and got butt kicked, I'd be saying he started it too!!!
