The "go" managment is at fault for not providing alarm clocks for the pilots.

I don't believe that two pilots fell asleep at the same time at 10:00 in the morning

It might be hard to believe but ALL pilots fall asleep while flying at one time or another.

What if these pilots had woken up too far out over the ocean with insufficient fuel to return to any airport? What if their altitude had been 12,000 feet, not 29,000 feet? With a 14,000 foot volcano around, that may have been a problem! So, let's call it the $29 ticket to hell! I gladly pay a few dollars more for larger and or more modern aircraft, also pilots with more experience, but that's just me. No, I am not rich, just love life a lot!

40 people on flight 1002? I predict a class action lawsuit. They all must be pretty shaken up after all the media coverage. I know I would be.

If for the same price I can get well rested pilots I will never fly go! Airlines. Why should I?

While ultimate responsibility for what happened on this flight does lie with the pilots, I want to make sure the people of Hawaii realize that ALL the pilots at Mesa airlines have been begging almost pleading with Jonathan Ornstein to fix the safety and scheduling issues here at Mesa for the last 5 to 7 years.
This incident is just the TIP of the iceberg of what is going on at Mesa Airlines and more importantly what Jonathan Ornstein is hiding from the general public.
He has been TOLD point blank from the union and regular Mesa pilots that the schedules are UNSAFE and that there are other SERIOUS safety issues which need to be addressed. Everytime we (the pilots) have brought these issues to his attention he flat out ignores us.

Let's think about this incident with the two pilots. A lot people wanted go! to last here in the islands. cheap fares, pilots in mid air fall asleep.

It's Hawaiian Air's fault because it won uka pile of dollars in its suit against Go! Maybe Go! shoulda just kept flying back to the mainland and disappear for good.

If this airline is this unsafe I would find another flying job.

Does those "cheap" fares include a lifevest? A Mesa 1900D CRASHED in Jan 2003 because of Mesa "cost cutting" with 21 dead. Why does a millionaire chose to play games with lives for a small cost advantage??? GREED! BTW At the pilots funerals the Mesa management hui handed the union rep a LABOR CONTRACT PROPOSAL!! TACKY!!!!COLD HEARTED! TRUE!

I am happy that Go! is here serving Hawaii- their price is more affordable, they’re always on-time, and more importantly, they’re putting pressure on Aloha and Hawaiian to improve their services. Looking at this incident, if the plane was functioning ok, clearly the pilots were at fault and have to take full responsibility. Their pilot license should be suspended.

Blame the Board that makes the rules....pilots are employees and follow the schdule given them...blame the company for following the set up for failure parameters....the pilots lives were also at risk and in danger....and now the pilots are suspended....change the rulings...blame the pilots if they are on alcohol or on drugs which are their own
choices....falling asleep is not by willingly wanting to
do so

Actually Go!'s fares are always matched by Aloha and Hawaiian. However, I'm happy that you are willing to fly an airline with inexperienced pilots and not occupy my seat on ALO or HA. Thanks for keeping my fares down.

The pilots started their day at 5:40, they probably got up about 3:30. Does this change your mind?

go! pays their pilots close to minimum wage and thats why they end up with bottom of the barrel pilots.
