How can gays (both male and female) consider "marraige" between identical sexes a "civil right"? It is nothing less than confusion and psychological deviant behavior that perpetuates itself by this practice and further confuses any "adoption" or conceived offspring through either normal sex or insermination by making it legally binding as a "marriage".

It also further erodes the benefits of a male/female marriage by giving these gays the same rights who expect the same classification, yet produces a slew of problematic issues that comes with this "package".

Studies have shown a higher rate of psychological problems with children raised under such conditions, lack of concentration, confusion as to what role they play and peer pressure from fellow classmates. Now, do we taxpayers need to come up with additional funds to "support" these kids raised under these conditions?

Problem(s) created by these "same sex marriages" should be funded by the very ones asking for its legalization, not the general public who did just fine without any more complications from the gay community.

Studies have also shown that gay men has a much higher rate of hepatitus, HIV and other yet unknown illness due to the fact that "unnatural" intercourse (back-ending) is the cause. When the outbreak of HIV started, 90 percent of these cases were attributed to gay men, should society wait again for another outbreak of a different type and be responsible for such deviant behavior?

I'm sure the drug companies would like to get government funding for new and exotic diseases.

The voters have spoken, we do not like gays and lesbians to be married. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Show me a guy that can become pregnant or like wise a woman by same sex, then will I agree with all of the freaks.

benefits of male/female marriage --- who are you kidding?

marriage in the United States is a complete disaster --- with half of marriages ending in divorce and children with step mommies and daddies leaving them completed confused --- and this step mommy and daddy trend is heavily present among so-called born again religious

For legal rights, call it something else and make out a will. They do not like 'domestic partners', how about 'partner marriage', there must be some other legal term which would be acceptable to give them the same rights, as they want the same rights.

If a 'marriage' does not have to be between a man and a woman, maybe I would like to marry my house. However, it might be a bit tough to get a signature from it.

Islanders protest gay-marriage ban - News

What? I sure did not protest. Yucky !!!

Gay is preferred to homosexual. The adjective gay encompasses both men and women, but when there is a need to specify both genders, as in gay and lesbian alliances, gay describes men. Avoid using gay as a noun, as in He's a gay and Four gays walked in, because it can be taken to be offensive. Preferred substitutes are He is gay and Four gay people/men/women walked in.

Got that? Now go back to San Francisco.

I think I'll organize a national anti-rail movement to get others across the county to be sympathetic to my cause. Actually, no, I won't. The majority have spoken. Isn't that how it is in a democracy? That's what happened in California, and now there will be no gay marriage there. The majority have spoken.

So much hate...if you don't like gay marriage, don't do it!!! Everyone who's making these racy comments on here has a vision of a utopia as bland as a black and white 50's sitcom...it doesn't exist and you should be glad for it. Marriage was first created in society, not religion so yes, it is a civil right...if i die and my kids and assets can't go to my husband (i'm a guy btw) then what kind of society is that? if my husband is on life support, should his cousin who he's spoken to once in the last ten years be able to pull the plug? and don't give me the whole "civil unions" BS because I think we're past the Jim Crow laws...separate is not equal.

But the thing is, they will not just leave us alone. As a matter of fact, there is already an ad on this newspaper for hooking up with gay guys/couples.
Next we should ban protestors.

Does the Star Bulletin not moderate comments? I'm very surprised that these hateful comments are allowed (regardless of view). Whether for or against, just state your opinion, don't condemn.
