This response was in regards to checking out "the rock" Masumi allegedly hit her head on. Here's an interesting thought...let's see, 40mph vehicle, victim somehow ejected, hits head, massive injuries, got to lots of blood....ahhh, don't you think the neighbors in the area would've seen and reported something so obviously suspicious????

That's for the selected jury to decide Lankford's fate? I seen a lot of hate and discontent towards his attorney for defending him but that's what he's getting paid for. I pretty sure if you guys were in the same predicament you would hire a attorney to defend you too or would you have said let the state do what the state wants to do to me even if you knew the state's version of what happened is not what really happened. I don't think so! First of all I am sure I would never be in this guys predicament. I do agree that his lawyer is just doing his job ( keep i mind I am sure he also has been lied to by this scumbag ) I hope the people send a messaage and give Masumi and her family some justice accident or not this guy is beyond wrong and needs to be punnished severely

Saddened by inhumanity wrote: <quoted text>The windshield was repaired by Lankford's employer. When Lankford returned to his workplace he told his employer that the hole in the cracked windshield was caused by a bird. Lankford's employer had the windshield repair for safety reasons so HPD could not examine the cracked windshield. That's another "good" story Lankford gives. He must have watched to many Alfred Hitchcock movies (The Birds) to come with an original excuse like a bird cracking his windshield. Yes, we get them all the time. A suicidal kamakazi bird hellbent on a divebomb to crack the car's windshield. Let's see what exhibit attorney Wilkerson is going to introduce on the dive-bombing bird theory.

An Observer wrote: In my youth, I walked to Chinaman's Hat from the shore, at low tide. Years later, I remember (about twenty years ago) there was a school outing to Chinaman's Hat. A parent from Waipahu I believe and two kids tried to make it back as the tide was rising. The adult drowned. I'm not sure what happened to the kids. Someone needs to tell the Prosecutor to ask Lanford to give the details of his alleged walk in the dark waters with a rising tide or high tide. I once talked to someone who talked to the daughter of the man who drowned on that school outing at Chinaman's Hat. The man was an off duty fireman (parent) who tried to warn the school advisors not to go out that day because of the dangers of the high tide. He saved 6 to 7 children before drowning in the high tide at Chinaman's Hat while his daughter waited for him on the beach.

There is a rumor circulating at work that a couple of people at Lankford's trial saw Masumi's spirit sitting in the gallery. Did anyone hear about this?

Let's not forget the name of this hero. From the June 8, 2994 Star Bulletin:
STANLEY SAKUMA was, by his family's account and those who knew him, a good man who worked hard, preached kindess, and most of all, loved the water. He was a humble sort who never made waves, so when he died, there was less written about him in the newspapers than about the way he died, although to those whose lives he touched, he was a hero long before.

With proof, people who murders other people should be murdered themselves. Get rid of some of the people in prisons, so that we stop making more prisons. Pretty soon our country is going to be filled with prisons.

Come on dummy just listen to the outrageous defense Wilkerson is presenting. So far he's giving the jury reason to doubt instead of presenting reasonable doubt.I would hate to have you as my defense attorney.Wilkerson sounds like Dog Da Bounty Hunter,"Oh I was convicted of being an accessory to murder, but I did'nt do that".Sorry Dog if you were there then it's murder.Only a white man in Hawaii would think of a ridiculous defense like the being presented here.

Wilkerson and Lankford are sick!! They should tell the truth! I really feel sorry for Masumi and her family. I lived in Hawaii and I met lots of lovely people who have aloha spirit. I`m sure Masumi liked HI. To my surprise, you don`t hear from news about Masumi`s case in Japan. When she was dissapeared last year, Japanese media, tourisom industory tried to hide this case. Because Hawaii is a popular destination for travelling, studying abroad and living for Japanese. And they don`t want to influence bad inpressions or images of HI. They want to make Japanese think Hawaii is safe. I`m very dissapointed at them. I hope Wilkerson and Lankford will go to jail as soon as possible and can not leave there. I hope Masumi`s parents can meet her again soon.
