Haha..

So there's a national fingerprint database? Someone on here earlier called me a "kook" for pointing out there were DNA databases.. hmm...

Unless you have tight video surveillance, you cant charge them for the alleged notes in W. Spfld.

Have we forgotten that the Federal Reserve is allowed to counterfeit money all day long by printing more out of thin air with nothing to back them up?

The Fed is a PRIVATE BANK, not a governmental agency. The notes are toilet paper in real value. The definition of a "note" is:
"a paper acknowledging a debt and promising payment; promissory note"

So, all the paper "money" in your wallet is only an IOU; a promise to pay. Nothing more! It is a debt instrument.

Have you never read about the FBI? They started the national fingerprint database way back when. It has helped solve many crimes that would otherwise be still unsolved.

I understand the concerns about a national dna database, however; how would you recommend the availibity of DNA for clearing an innocent man? DNA has been instrumental in getting many people cleared of horrible crimes that they didn't commit. A national database would def help the innocent. My big fear would be that actual samples would be kept on file. You can't plant fingerprints yet, but DNA is plantable. If all they did was keep a printout of the DNA for reference purposes, and it was collected at the same time they already collect fingerprints, I don't think it would be a huge deal. In all honestly, I more worried about the government tracking my e-mail, phone and internet records, or the fact that if I don't have a government recognized ID, I can't function. I think a national ID card, or at least a list of authorized ID's will be here long before everyone's dna is in a database. I leave my DNA and fingerprints all over. I don't care to have my movements tracked.

While I was in the Army Reserves, I worked in Security at a store in the mall and at a home improvement warehouse in Westside. If the store is like many of those in the mall, there are some really good cameras. Also, they don't need a really good camera, just a camera that can be used to positivly identify them.

If all counterfitting was was photocopying real bills then I would agree with you - it really isn't a crime, but that is not how good fakers work. It is tied in with drugs and guns and violence. Not to mention its stealing - from the government,(which I could care less about) and from the person they give the bill to.(That would be me) I don't particularly care to be stuck holding a piece of monopoly money in exchange for my buisness.)

On the whole Ron Paul anti-Federal Reserve , etc.... you have a little problem - how to you purpose to do away with the FRS, yet still retain our financial base? Think back to Whermach Germany when the money was worth so little that it was better to burn it than use it. The Federal Bank has been around since Andrew Jackson's time - you can't just pass a law and expect things to change overnight.

I am against a DNA database because it is too powerful a tool and I do not trust government to maintain it.

Federal Reserve Notes are hurting all of us because the Fed prints so much that the money you and I have in our wallets (which we already earned) is now worth LESS. That is the "inflation tax" which is killing the economy and hurting everyone, rich and poor.
The Present day Fed was created in 1913. Before that there were various attempts at setting up a central bank. Jackson did not renew the charter for the Second Bank of the United States because he ran on a campaign slogan, "Jackson and NO BANK". He knew the implications of a private central bank. Shortly thereafter, a man tried to assassinate him when both pistols at point blank range misfired.
Lincoln printed "Greenbacks" to pay for the Civil War which were government printed notes (backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S.) and owed no interest to anyone. The current FRS owed interest on the bills produced to the private bankers. This is done via Internal Revenue Service and higher taxes. The national debt skyrockets as most of it is interest.
I suggest you pick up a copy of "Creatre From Jekyll Island" by G. Edward Griffin.

Who's Ron Paul?

I understand the mistrust of the government - they don't exactly have a great track record of honestly, espcially this administration!

I wasn't saying that Jackson kept the bank going - just that the concept dated from his time. I do understand the dangers of this system, but I asked for a solution. What system would replace the FRS?

I'm going to take you seriously and assume that you don't know who Ron Paul is, even though I'm thinking that last comment sounded a little retorical - Ron Paul is a republican US House Rep who ran for President this year. He is known for his stand against the Iraq war and the Federal Reserve System. He failed to win much of the vote during the primaries, but has remained firm in his beliefs. Vey unusual. His official website is www.campaignforliberty.com I don't agree with some of his stands, but he's worth a look...
