You would think going to College would lead to an education for the intellect not an advance degree in how to act like animals. And they are doing it to their brother in arms. Makes you wonder why we have higher education when all they are learning is how to aggressively beat up on some one. You will note that they did it in a pack. No one on one here, nope they attack like a mod. I guess that is what you call collective learning.

It's a shame that kids or young adults can't do anything without being attacked by groups of violent youths. Hmm sounds like.....Memphis..........

Security guards did nothing...... sound like they were fearful of "Mob Mentality" or rather of large groups of violent young males.

Hope you feel better and that mom gets her assailants.. Probably won't happen, in the dark, everyone looks the same and no one wants to talk to the police..........same as in MEmphis.

Now to read the other comments.

One of y family members trassferred to Rust College in the fall of 2010. After three weeks at that college, he begged his parents to take him out for the reainder of the seester. He was not even concerned about a refund, he said the student are out of control, violent, and he was afraid for his safety.

For the second comment, what if it was your son? We need to think before opening our big mouth.

Rust isn't all dat bad..I attended rust but I withdrew in September because I wanted to not because the school is horrible. I'm nt saying its right what happened but at da same time locals have no reason to walk on college campus n then they throwing eggs at folks. Rust is not a bad college to me at all. N my heart goes out to those boys n they family but it wasnt just rust college students. It was the locals also. I'm not taking sides but it is what it is. Rust isn't all that bad. What would y'all do if kids start throwing eggs at y'all? Don't give a damn if its Halloween or not. I wouldnt damn near take they life away because its not dat serious. But best believe it wulda been a fight. They r mature n nice n friendly at rust n I dont regret going there. If I had a chance I would go back. But what I'm saying is rust aint bad n its not right what they did but they aren't the only ones to blame !

This is really a shame and scary. My son wanted to go up to the haunted house Sunday night and I wouldn't take him. This could have been him and it just pitiful that we have to be afraid for our children. Dowdy family, I hope you find justice and you all will be in my prayers for a full recovery.
If we can't say anything positive, lets not post anything. This is serious and evidently the first person does not have children because that never would have come out of their mouth.

Its a damn shame that folks in 2010 can say some of the things Ive read here. I dont care if its black on black white on white its HUMAN ON HUMAN and its a damn shame! My children are black and I am white and I wouldnt give a damn what ethnicity the assailants are they need they asses kicked and given a reality check. Everything that happens in this world DOES NOT require violence or retalliation. And for the so-called grown ups teach your kids more then just kick they ass or ill kick yours. Compassion and humility are very lacking in todays society and if we do not bring it back our children will be living in a more severe state of chaos then we are now!

Well if the locals would not just walk on the campus and cause a riot none of this would have happen. Yes I feel bad for the family but people need to take responsibility for their own actions. People say that the students of Rust college are animals and should be punished but what about the freshman student who got attached and hit the face with a brick by the locals of Holly Springs while she was at the store yesterday or the car they broked into. Do you not think that the students of Rust have a right to protect themsleves. Yes I think it is horrible that it has to be this way, but the locals terrorize the students every year.
