My mom is really freaked out about the Kara Kopetsky thing, especially becuase another girl went missing in Overland Park while she was walking into Target (they found her-dead), and they think it's the same dude. I'm like, freaked out to go anywhere. What if I was in Kara's shoes right now. What if I'm not safe either. What if in a second my life fell to pieces just like those girls?

There are rumors flying around Raymore and Belton that Kara Kopetsky has been found dead in a field and they don't want this to be let out because they have a lead on the guy who murderd her. Is this true? I hope not. God, please bring Kara home safley if they have already not found her.

They found Kelsey's body, not Kara's. Kara is still missing. They found Kelsey's body in an area in grandview just outside longview lake. Its creepy just in itself, but its about a mile away from my house. My prayers go out to Kelsey's family, and to Kara's. I hope they don't give up hope that Kara is still out there.

God help them. I think Kara and Kelsey's situations are connected. I pray that Kara's has a better outcome, but for some reason coincidence that Kara's home is 7 miles from where Kelsey was found is too odd.

I think if police dig around a little, they will find these two girls connect somehow. While the suspect in custody is probably involved in at least the one disappearance of Kelsey.....and maybe connected to Kara, I think there is alot of "leads" they have to cover and I would strongly suggest the police take both young ladies computers into their crime labs, both Kelsey's boyfriend and Kara's ex-boyfriends computers and both families computers.

Not to suspect the families. Kids have a bad habit of using all computers in their homes.

I think there is more to this than meets the eye.

The other thing I'd do, remove all these slanderous ugly things about the girl on this blog.

Then, tell police to start talking to Kelsey's boyfriend and checking to see if he has ever been in the Belton area.

There's forensic evidence laying there screaming at the forensics team. I hope to God they are listening.

Kelsey Smith's devistating situation situation has been on the national news for the past couple of days. Why isn't Kara Kopetsky? This is the 1st time I am hearing anything about Kara. Kara's family and friends (I am sure devistated beyond beleif) need to get her picture and story out there. Someone knows what happened or saw something.

I am so sorry Kelsey got Kidnapped i was balling my eyes out when i heard it because she used to go to school with my friend Liz Wallace she was beautiful beyond believe. But i am so glad she is in Heaven with jesus our savior. And you know what she should of been with somebody that day. You can't be by yourself anymore this days i;m sorry thats just the way it is. Lets Have A Moment Of Rememberance For Dear Kelsey Smith. And I Will Be Praying For The Family

Seems as if he has done something like this before once or twice, he seemed to be able to quickly get this girl under his control in a public place. I would also like to cast my vote in favor of him being responsible for Kara as well. The only thing that bothers me about it is that Kara has not been found and Kelsey was found fairly easily. I don't know enough about Kara's story and I too am surprised that her case wasn't as publicised as Kelsey's. But cops these days know what their doing, hopefully this will all come to a conclusion soon and justice will be done for both girls.

Mistygirl728 - what does Kelsey's boyfriend have to do with any of this? I don't understand the idea of police questioning him in the disappearance of Kara.

Regardless, these seem to be such similar stories, and something tells me they are connected. Police may need to search a little deeper in the area where Kelsey was found.

I remember hearing about the Kara story before and when they found a body yesterday I was almost sure it would be that of Kara rather than the one they were looking for.

Whoever is behind this is sick, I wish both families the best.

The whole family was questioned, law enforcement always starts with the family and moves out. The boyfriend would be a first obvious choice, aside from the parents for the cops to talk to. Then when the pings were discovered they probably wanted to know more about what was going on at the time he was text messaging her. Nothing unusual that I can see.

This is one sick society we live in. We American's breed these types of people with our lack of quick and deliberate methods of dealing with monsters such as this guy. Give me 5 minutes with him alone with a baseball bat and justice will be done. I believe it's time we stand up and make quick examples of these people. Now we must endure months of the "talking heads" pouring over the case in the quest of entertainment.

It is amazing to compare the magnitude and effort by local, state and federal authorities to find Kelsey Smith (4 days) versus Kara Kopetsky (4 weeks and counting). Up until the tragic conclusion of Kelsey's abduction, the media has given little attention to Kara's disapperance and had a fraction of the law enforcement effort. The thought that maybe Kara took off on her own may be the reason but if you were going to take off on your own, would you leave with only the clothes on your back?! No cell phone activity or bank account activity since the disapperance would lead any logical person to be seriously concerned. This should include the media and all law enforcement departments. It is very possible that if Kara's disapperance was handled with the urgency and manpower that Kelsey's case was given, the case may very well be solved by now...good or bad. I pray good.

Yes, I agree with you Steve, but I'm wondering if Kara's parents weren't perhaps grieving in another way and didn't branch out and keep Kara's name in the forefront. I have no way of knowing, maybe they did try, however I couldn't blame them for wanting to grieve in private and not be in the public glare. I really can't imagine any other reason there would be.

It is sad that Kara has not been given the attention she deserves, hopefully that is changing now. I personally do not fault the police for getting involved quickly with Kelsey's case because it was apparent from the get-go that she had been abducted. Also, if you had a friend or co-worker who had a child missing-wouldn't you do all you could,exhaust alll resources to find that child? That is what the coworker's of Kelsey's father did.
