Does anyone have any information on who the guy was that got badly beaten by a group of teens? That is pretty sad when you can't even take your grandkids to the park without worrying whether you are going to get jumpd. By the way....who were the teens? Anyone know?

I was told that he had asked a young girl to stop cursing around his granddaughter. The young girl went and told an older boy. The older boy then comes over and jumps Vaughn with brass knuckles. If you don't know Vaughn, you are missing out. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He would do anything for anyone. This just makes me sick.

When I went up to the park a few days ago there were so many young kids hanging out with boys and some of the girls all over them. This is out of control.I guess you need to carry a gun to protect yourself. The police need to patrol that place good. I hear of fights up there all the time. That is now the meeting place for the kids now and let me tell you there were a lot of them up there. These kids involved even the girl need the book throwen at them.Get these punck kids off the streets.

Vaughn is a very nice guy and he did not deserve this. I have seen the video I have talked to witnesses and i know the story. if someone was cussing around my grand kids i would tell them to stop please also. The argument was out of line in the first place. why did the girl have to run to her dad. ive seen people curse and have been told to stop, that is what should have happened not a family argument. Spogokee shouldn't of hit him. he hit him from the back and i have also heard he had brass knuckles. Vaughn got back up and apologized for hurting the girls feelings but said he still wishes she would stop cursing. Vaughn had no reason to get hit. We need to get these people handled in holdenville. For this to happen to Vaughn (one of the nicest guys in holdenville it is bull) it can happen to anybody. my deepest sympathy go out to Vaughn and his family. And prayers for anybody taking there children any where in this town.

You are right this shouldn't have happened to the Nicest Man in town. That little girls parents should be accountable also, her brother and all those punks parents. I have a family and my children know that they should Respect the Elders, (which means someone older than them)why didn't their parents teach them that. But this town isn't a bowl of cherries there are alot of things that go wrong and noone will stand up and help out a neighbor. I have been told by my elders that when it was time to bring in the crop they would get help from the neighbors all around and expect nothing in return. Now days you help a person and it is taken out of perportion. Vaugh was like that if you needed help he would do what he could, and to hear what happened to him was hard to hear, You could agree with me or not but it seemed like time stood still for just a minute.

Some of you are right. Vaughn and his whole family are very nice upstanding citizens of Holdenville. I wish we had more like them. It is a shame that we are not allowed to visit a public place and endure such treatment from people with poor morales. I hope they get what they deserve which is jail or a prison sentence. Also, how bad was he hurt? We all need to pray for him and those scoundrals too.

This makes me sick. Vaughn is so nice. He treats people the way he wants to be treated. He is a volunteer firefighter. How much better and community minded can a person be? From now on I will request police patrol during ball practice.

I am so sorry this happened to him! I had a run in with a few teens at the park myself a few months ago. I confronted a teen girl for mistreating (cussing out) my 9 year old as he innocently walked with his skate board to the skate park. He goes to school at Moss and didn't even know the girl. She degraded him and he wsin tears he didn't even do anything to her. When I confronted her she was in a group of teens who were very vulgar. I told her I would pray for her. This could have happened to me or anyone else. We have to do something as citizens to help this community! My prayers are with the Johnsons!

Well first off i was there and there was only one hit to the mans eye ok so stop tripping. secondly idk what the hit was for but the old man in no way got jumped and after the hit spokogee was sent away. all he was doin was standing up for his family. he may have taken it to far but he did get pulled away. i think you guys should worry about shit more important than this. and if u are going to talk shit why dont you use your real names? i mean really you want to make a difference so stand up and make one. you aint gonna get it done by hiding your identity behind your pc. talking shit on topix accomplishes absolutely not a damn thing. so c'mon people if you want to make a difference then dont hide

Is't that all it should take. Instead of worrying about your friend's reputation being crushed you should worrying about why he would do that to someone who is just standing up for HIS family. How would you feel if it were your little girl? It was a simple comment asking to stop rude behavior?

My suggestion for you as a friend is to not down play what happened but be a REAL FRIEND and let him know how in the wrong he was! Being a friend isnt always agreeing with someone else behavior. Torri do you have any children? or any siblings? what you you grandpa was on the other end of that One punch how would that make you feel then about your friend. Wrong is wrong and when you stand up for someone who caused SO much harm...(which that one punch obviously landed him in the hospital) then you are no better than the person who did it. Shame on you for trying to justify his actions of harming someone
