Just wondering

I see this kids name in the paper at horse shows and such could it be she is a spoilt brat that when she doesn't get her way she trots off? Seems to me there may be a problem with this kid.

Maybe everyone should know the facts before judgement sets in.

I didn't say they weren't good people but look at what happened she took off right? So how do you explain this child's behavior? One minute I see this story and the next her name in local papers showing her horse. Now to me either there is a problem at home or she is spoilt or troubled. If you know the facts then post em and shut up about it but I smell a spoilt brat here.

Again, you have no idea what you are talking about. Maybe it is nobodys business.....ever think of that. Every family has issues, good & bad.

that one chick

i will say that altho i do not know the adoptive parents, i believe that having this mentally challenged, 20 year old girl, "walk laps" in the front yard is an odd punishment. i'm referring to what was written in the article posted above.
i also believe this girl must have been pretty serious about running away if she managed to stay gone and endure such conditions.
i believe that there needs to be some occasional"check ups" made with this family to ensure that nothing odd is occurring. not out of pettiness, but just as a safety factor.

Something still doesn't sit right Sarah, if you care about this young lady maybe you need to speak up, cause with all the bad people in the world she may not come home next time ever think of that?

Paige has run away more than once. The article says it best she had written in her journal/diary that she wanted to leave. After meeting members of this family I can understand why Paige or any of the other children would want to try and leave the Flemings. Paige is not the only child at the Flemings that has had to "Walk" or run laps around the house for punishment. I have read all of the posts and I agree that routine checks should be made even after an adoption, especially when it is obvious that the family chose to foster only for financial gain.Yes plenty of families have good and bad times but this family has more bad than good. Looking at the article and have met members of this family it appears that they try way to hard to put on a perfect apperance to the community, when in reality they lie and cover up their issues.

This is a joke! Why does their family issues even have to be on line? For those of you that don't know this family keep your opinions to yourself. These children are adopted...maybe the issues stem back to before they were even accepted into such a loving family. Oh-but lets be quick to judge. Maybe if you would shut your mouths and mind your own business or who knows...adopt a child yourself and lets see if you can do any better.

The Flemings family issues are on line and in the paper because one of the children wanted to be gone and finally got out. The paper had to print the "missing person." Do you really think people in the community is not going to wonder what is really going on? This is not the only time this person in question has run away. There are a lot of things that come up that make you wonder. Why try so hard to cover up what is really going on? As the article states Diana made a mentally handicap person run or walk laps for punishment. Anyone who has ever met any member of this family knows that this person is not the only member of this household that has ever had to endure this type of punishment and then some. It makes you wonder, as the article says, "Paige has the mental capacity of 12-13 yr old." Why does she have a "boyfriend?" The article does say that she keeps a journal and wants to leave. So now is it that she is held against her will? It is funny you and only one other person wants to defend this family? As I said before I do not blame any of the children for wanting to get out of that household. I know in the "foster" parent world and then adopt the financial gain behind it. I still agree with another post that routine checks should be made on families even after adoption.

State of the Union

Watching...you have hit the head on the nail with this one. I too have seen first hand the issues with these children. It is not just Paige, it is so sad.

If you are so sure about the Flemings and their issues then why can't you sign your REAL name instead of Watching? What is so wrong with having to walk laps? At least these children are not being urinated on, molesteted, or burnt with cigarettes. Oh...and they "are" monitored by state. They actually belong to church groups, the rodeos, and many sports groups. Does'nt sound like the family needs to hide anything or that they are even attempting too. If you know so much about the family and all the wrong...then step up concerned citizen instead of just standing back and "Watching". As a matter of fact there are alot of people involved in these children's lives. The Fleming's just did'nt become adoptive parent's yesterday. Don't you think someone would have reported something in the several of years if things were not right? I myself have some recovering drug addictions and guess what...neither of my parent's have ever done drugs. Paige simply did'nt get her way and acted on negative choices. Do you think she would have been allowed back in the home if any of your false assumptions were true?
