I have heard a lot of compliments about Strawberry.
I am not from your area, as a matter of fact, I am about an hour and a half to two hours away. I was discussing the restaurant with friends and we were thinking about driving to Holcomb to try it out.
After doing a topix search and reading some of the post, it appears we might need a reservation. I also read a couple of post that said they had visited the restaurant and the restaurant had ran out of food. The purpose of this thread is not to run down the restaurant, because I don't know anything about the restaurant. I'm just inquiring to see if you, the residents of Holcomb would recommend we drive that far to eat at the restaurant and if you recommended we make a reservation. Would Friday or Saturday night be better?

To our neighbor in Arkansas. There is not a better restaurant in Dunklin County. Some people have complained about some of the women with bad attitudes. Strawberry just lost his wife, whom he loved very much to cancer, plus Strawberry's wife's sister works there. Most good people overlook what someone might say in a time of mourning. Strawberry himself, is one of the friendliest guy's I have known. If you happen to see him, it will be your pleasure to meet him.

I believe some of the complainers felt if they had to get reservations, they were going to a New York style place where everyone kisses your butt because they are paying inflated prices for food. They felt special, so they thought they should be kissed on.

Strawberrys food is reasonably priced, you will have a good time if you go. Just don't expect anyone to kiss your butt. I personally don't need to be kissed on. I just like the good food and the enjoyment of the friends I go with, so why worry about anyone else. He has worked for at least 40 years perfecting his food and you WILL get more food than you can eat. You will not leave hungry.

The only way to go is get a reservation. If you have a reservation, you will be shown to your table WITH NO PROBLEM. There is only street parking, but you will not have any trouble finding it, or to park. That's where the crowd is at. You will not be disappointed.

Just a little tip. Drive the posted speed limit in town. The cops are good people, and do their job well. You, your friends, or family will be safe and protected while in Town.

I lost his number, and since I don't live in Dunklin county, I don't have a phone book for Holcomb. I'm sure someone will come on here and give it to you.

Holcomb is located at the junction of Highway's 53 and 25 in the bootheel of Missouri. The restaurant is downtown at the 4 way stop. As the old saying goes, "you can't miss it". It's a very small town, with a lot of history. Some of the family's from there, like mine, go back 100 to 150 years.

Like I said, I don't live there anymore and I lost the number to call for reservations.

Come on Holcomb folks, don't be shy and give these people the number to call for reservations.

yes indeed if you are driving from jonesboro, please make a reservation, especially on the weekend. try to make your reservation between 5:00 to 7:00. then you have a better chance of getting the meat that we do run out of. and yes honey, it is worth the drive. friday's are a better time to come in and eat, saturday's are very very busy. i promise, you will not regret it.

sorry that you feel that way about the workers. but there is something people do not understand about strawberry's. the workers work very hard. and there are people that put out to much trouble for the waitresses to handle. if you could just stop and watch the waitresses and some of the customers you will see what i am saying. be very patient with the workers and they will do there best for you.that is one thing that straw or mike does not like is the customers being rude to their workers and they always tell us that we do not have to put up with the rudeness from the rude customers. if you treat them with respect, respect is what you will get back.

I would have to say...this is one of the best places to get good food...the BBQ is well worth the drive and Strawberry is one of the nicest people you could meet ...both he and his late wife worked hard at Strawberries..as for the loud mouth trouble makers no matter where you go you find them..
MMMMMM...would love to have a Strawberries BBQ sandwich for lunch today...

Strawberry's food is good but very expensive also. I can't afford to go very often. My daughter went a few weeks ago and I ask her to pick me up a pork steak.(Just one from their fridge that I could heat at home) no potatoe or nothing just a pork steak wrapped in foil to go.$14.00 That is just way to expensive for my budget.

you were just priced wrong. A pork steak by itself is just $8 and the plate is only $11. Strawberrys is not expensive at all cause you get a whole lot more food than you actually pay for.
