By the way- to the people who think only "bad people" or "people who have had trouble with the law" are the only ones who comment negatively about the police- b.s. I am 35 years old and have never had so much as a speeding ticket. And I have quite a few things - negative- to say about a few police officers. That said, they are not all bad. I know several good police officers as well. To assume that only stupid ignorant criminals have negative things to say about police officers is actually only making yourself look stupid.

I am not stupid. I study Criminal Justice and what I said about people who get in trouble are the one's that say negative things about offices, is true 99% of the time. I'm sure there are people who think badly about officers and have never been in trouble but for the most part its the people who stay in trouble that complain.

just curious, i will say it again, that's a tired line. police serve a wonderful purpose in our society but when one steps over his boundaries and starts to harass rather than protect his citizens he needs to be shown the door and replaced with someone who respects the law he is upholding.

I never said that there was not police officers who just harass people instead of upholding the law. I have met some of these kinds of officers and yes you are right he/she needs to be replaced with someone else that will do the job correctly. What my point is that Al is not one of the officers that is harassing people and overstepping his boundaries. He is one of the best officers Holcomb has ever had. People are not used to ALL the laws being upheld in the community and don't like it because he enforces these laws. Yes I'm sure there are people that do not like him. I'm really sure, knowing him and all, that he is sooo upset because people don't like him. Every police officer is going to have people that do not like him/her.

it's not a matter of like, it's a matter of respect, and al doesn't seem to garner either.

That's because half of this town is dope heads and those are the people who want him out so that he will lay off of them. He does his job well.

It doesn't matter who the cop in Holcomb is, because who ever it is, there will always be some who like him or her and some who don,t.

i know al personally, he is not going to run for chief. he believes he is more effective on the street. and doesn't want to play politics. he's not afraid to write tickets to anyone, just ask around. when is the last time there was a serious accident inside the city limits? or house broke into? you got home safe tonight. I think he's doing a fine job.

Oh and by the way, if you knew anything about criminal justice or police work then you would know that alot of drug bust or open container tickets and what not are the outcome of being pulled over for some minor offense such as license plate light out!!
