I was thinking today about the neighborhood I grew up in. At one time, where the old hospital sits was nothing but woods. I spent a lot of time playing in those woods, there were no street lights then, the place was dark as a dungeon. The old hospital parking lot is now for patient parking using the doctors there. When I was growing up, it was a place where the county kept some of their road equipment and other stuff needed to do road maintenance and other repairs. I spent many a day playing there. Where the Veteran's Park and duck pond is now was once the source of water for Piedmont. Later the old resevoir was opened up amd the city made a swimming pool out of it, people still went to the spring to get their drinking water. The city finally closed the pool and eventually turned it into a park and the duck pond. At one time that neighborhood had grocery stores, cafes, gas stations, there was evan a small farm where the car wash is now. Things have changed but I really can't say for the better. I noticed Nelder's business is picking up and seems Gavino's business is falling off but I can understand why.

I like to ride by the park and swing though the old neighborhood when I feel like it. I noticed there are never any cars at Gavino's place. Someone told me she had cut her hours down to 24 hours a week because business had fallen off. As I thought all alone, she is a rich person's doctor, with all the expensive tests you have to take, she threatens to dismiss you if you don't take them. Then you end up running all over Calhoun and Etowah county for more unnecessary tests that even the insurance company deems not needed and doesn't want to pay for. It's just not worth the trouble trying to keep a doctor like that. I know LabCorp at the Jacksonville hospital messed up the last tests I took though I can't prove it. It is just a never ending battle.

Just about every exam room has a sink in it (and if yours doesn't, find a doctor with a real clinic). When your doc walks in, they should make a beeline for the sink before they even shake your hand.

If they don't then don't be afraid to point it out to them -- and if you're too embarrassed to do so, take a second to think about whom they might have been touching -- and where they may have been poking -- in the room next door.

So ask them to wash their hands, and don't feel bad about it.

You're right. Staph infections come from hospitals and doctor's offices.

I an give you a first hand account of Chantix. That stuff is dangerous. I had my first and only night terror. It was like the way people describe a bad acid trip.

everyone on here keeps complaining about terry and things to that nature! To my knowledge she has no medical schooling at all. She says something about getting doing a medical Assistant diploma online and you cant do that because you have to have on the job training for that. i think that she should be reported. On the Brosha issue. Brosha was fired for drugs!! She was not anything more then an Medical Assistant. She was always nice to me and treated me equal but sometimes your life messes up all the good things that you have! She knew her job and did it well. I was a patient that came many times a month for a long time and got to know the girls there very well. Mindy was all ways nice, and Connie always let me be seen no matter what! I think that if Dr. Nelder wanted a good staff back she should hire them back and things would be great! But the staff she has needs to hit the road. If she does read this everyday then she knows at the problems people are having and doesnt care and wont do anything about it then she doesnt need to be a doctor. I hope that she does read this and fires the whole staff and starts over from the beginning. Dr. Gavino is GREAT! Mindy is her nurse now and she is wonderful never had a problem with either. So change doctors call Dr Gavino you wont be sorry!!!

Dr.Gavino has cut hours because all of her patients are older people who only come to the doctor in the morning. If your gonna talk about someone make sure you check your information. Benny I am sure that you or someone you know has gotten fired from DR.Gavinos office. If you dont have your liver, Chol. and other test done every 3 months and ended up in liver failure due to the medication you took then you would want to sue her for not checking it. You complain about dr nelder not being a good doctor and her staff being rude. dr gavino is a GREAT doctor and her staff in WONDERFUL. So you cant just complain about everyone. She isnt a rich persons doctor you just dont get free medical care like everything else in life you pay for what you get. you want rude service then pay less and go to nelders office you want nice quite QUICK services pay alitte more and go to gavinos office!!!

sorry didnt mean to post numbers! I was a patient of dr gavinos and had to change dr due to the new hours. I call the office and asked why they were changed and the above is what the nurse told me. I work in the medical field and understand the importance of having labs and such things done. The above post was just venting sorry for anyone who reads it. HA! I know that dr can fire patients for not doing there labs taking meds they werent given or even taking meds that where given to them by another dr that they didnt tell there normal dr about. I assume that benny or someone was fired/dismissed because of his attuide towards this office. I would have stayed with dr gavino but am unable to get there before 5 each day and I can't expect them to stay and wait on just me.

Brosha was educated and did a great job.she was good to the patients, even the one's she had to fire, Mindy was good too and they'll never find anyone who did as good a job as Connie did.She went out of her way to help the patients. those women would go pick up patients, check on them if they lived alone and just cared about those people. Brosha got in trouble for have some pot on her. I don't smoke pot but I believe it should be legalized. I've never known anyone violent on pot. the G'ovt could tax it and we'd have the money for a decent school system. I don't know the people who work up there now but I've heard that the new staff is rude and just plain stupid. Terri has a reputation for treating people badly. She's suspected of making the drug tests turn out the way she wants them to so she can get rid of people she doesn't like. I know of 2 pharmacists who've tried to tell nelder terri lied about calling in prescriptions just to get people fired. Nelder doesn't want to hear it. I also was told by people who work for other doctors that terri made the rounds looking for pain pills for herself. If I was nelder, I'd get down on my hands and knees and beg the original crew to come back and straighten out her practice while she still has one. Just to be fair, there are new people up there who I haven't heard anything about. They may be nice but they're in a bad situation having to deal with terri. One day someone's going to sue nelder for what terri does. Terri is a racist and she puts these Piedmont people down. She thinks she's better than the people here. She has no education and knows nothing about the medical field. I'd bet you $100 she'd fail a drug test on any given day. Don't you just love a hypocrite? How can someone smart enough to get through medical school be dumb enough to keep terri? A lot of people have said terri must know something on Nelder that prevents her from being fired. If that's true, it will come out in the end.

I just had a long talk with a person who's affiliated with the Administration of Jacksonville Hospital. This person told me that no one at the hospital has any respect for Dr. Nelder. It hasn't got anything to do with this site. the powers that be just don't think she's a good doctor and rummer has it, when her contact is up, it will not be renewed. so to those of you who still use her, might want to be looking for another doctor. They say she's lazy, never on time and they've had too many complaints. Truth be told, I'm sure they are very aware of this site. She's a liability to the hospital and they are not happy about that. Of course, she could go out on her own but I doubt that will happen. So, way back in the beginning, Benny must have been right about her. I hope he finally feels vindicated.

ala fan if someone is really telling you that at the hospitl they would loose there job. That kinda information is not to be shared with just anyone. Nelder has to be a smart person or she would have never finished medical school! I think that she allows her staff to make all the choices and in turn that makes her look bad! She isnt a clean person and is always late everywhere she goes that is just common knowledge. If people here were worried about thier own lifes as much as they are worried about this women then there would be better people in this world. She isnt going to be around for much longer because people are leaving her as patients and moving to any other doctor but its not our place to talk about her what will be is going to be!! Just pray for her!

Pardon me but you have no idea who I talked to. The information was unsolicited on my part but came from a reliable source. If you knew "the source" you'd feel like a fool. Nelder allowed her staff to treat people badly and that's the only reason I passed this info along. It wasn't shared with just anyone. She's screwed up so many times, she's a legal liability to the hospital... They'd probably let you fire her when the time comes.
