Wet-dry bill could give DeKalb towns voice

A state House committee Wednesday approved a bill that would allow cities and towns in DeKalb County, regardless of size, to vote to legalize the sale of alcohol. via Times-Journal

Great Idea! Get the tax money from the sales,People that drink are going to buy it!They will go where they sell it....so vote it in and get their tax money....maybe even keep them off the highways when they have to travel to buy it.

When is Prohibition gonna end??
While this is stupid that this is still a moral issue I believe that you will find the local churches will spend every last dime of tithe money to make sure that DeKalb remains under Puritan rule.

Though I am not a drinker myself, I think going wet would be a good idea. There is nothing stopping people who do drink from going to the state line or to Fort Payne to buy alcohol, so why wouldn't we want that money they are spending there to stay in our towns? I have heard people say that it would increase the number of teenagers who drink, but if they want beer, they will get beer, and it doesn't matter where or how they get it. I'm excited to see how this turns out.

I did and thay said were to small the city needs to be 7500 and we are 2500 she said no!!! she said she went to the city attorney and thats what he said. Im for it I dont drink at all and Im sorry you church people say you dont drink give me a brake how dumb do you think we are wine is alcohol and god said its ok get the money !!!!!!!!
