1 Here’s a funny side note: Mini Me won't give change to anyone that uses the Laundromat next door, not even exchange two dimes and a nickel for a quarter; BUT she has the nerve to go over there and get quarters from their change machine for the Dollar General! How two-faced is that? |

1 First of all I am a resident of Grantville for nearly 8 years. I shop at the Dollar General all the time and have been treated with nothing but respect by all the employees. I don't know Wanda personally but just from how nice the store is kept I can only assume she is doing a great job. I don't know what issues you are having, but maybe a quiet sit down with mini me (whoever that is) and Wanda and this issue could be resolved, rather than bring issues like this to an open forum. Obviously you are upset about something. Whatever you did wrong or you feel they did wrong should be discussed with whoever you are having issues with. I have spent many years as an employed person, running errands and things such as that for the company I work for. So, as far as you being paid for gas you're out of luck. Unless when you got hired stating that you would receive compensation for mileage then establishments like Dollar General do not pay mileage. If you are needed at another store then it is your responsibility to pay for the gas to get you there. That's like asking a company to pay you extra for the drive to work. Not going to happen. Now, the reason I replied. If you feel that you are not receiving past wages that are due to you. You should at first contact the store manager. If that is not possible then you will need to contact someone from Human Resources. Remember though, most companies will issue you your past wages on the next pay cycle. You'll just go down and pick up your check. Good luck. |

2 Sharon, you have got to be kidding me. "How nice the store is kept"????? You must be blind. If you can get through the filth in the parking lot, you might notice the store being nice. Give me a break. It's typical Grantville. |

1 Sissy, I was not referring to the parking lot or the hood rats that seem to try and hang out, I was talking about the inside of the store. It is always clean and the employees are always nice. |

1 You're not donating gas or time when you travel from one establishment to another. Especially one that you obviously were hired on to do and accepted the job, and without a written contract stating that you would be paid for mileage. You're being paid for time once you arrive at the place of business. I know no job where they pay you mileage to "come to work." Once you arrive, and say you have to make a delivery, most likely those types of jobs would pay you mileage. The thing is, Dollar General is not one of those types of places. Give me a break. If you really want to rattle some peoples cages I would be more than happy to announce in this forum just how low you stooped. On a side note, If I were you I'd be careful how you handle things in an open forum or around town. There is a thing called Defamation of Character (Slander). Your grammar needs work and I am not sure you would understand it. So, being the nice guy I am, I got the definition all ready for you. Definition - Defamation of Character; Defamation is the issuance of a false statement about another person, which causes that person to suffer harm. Slander involves the making of defamatory statements by a transitory (non-fixed) representation, usually an oral (spoken) representation. Libel involves the making of defamatory statements in a fixed or medium, such as a magazine or newspaper. Defamation of character can include slander (spoken derogatory statements), libel (written derogatory statements) or both. To constitute actionable defamation, the statements must be false and expose a person to hatred, ridicule or contempt. You also can sue if the defamation harms you in your occupation. Here you go, read up on it: http://www.attorneys-usa.com/intentional/defa... |

1 Proverbs 19:5-A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape. Proverbs 6: 16 There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, 19 a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. |

If you don't want people to mind your business, you shouldn't post it on a public forum. |

Absolutely! 100% agree. If I weren't married, I'd propose to you. |

Georgia is a "right to work" state. You can be let go for any reason or no reason at all. Unless you have a contract, you have no recourse no matter how many years you worked. I have no knowledge, comment or opinion on the former employee problems. I do enjoy the dollar store. I think it has been good for the community. A wide variety of needed goods at low prices.

Umm…Hmm…Next time it would be highly advisable to make sure you know what you are talking about before quoting such information! You are correct Georgia is a Right to Work State, but this has nothing to do with getting fired. A Right to Work State simply means employees who work in Georgia, except on federal property or for a railway or airline, have a right to resign from union membership and not pay union dues or fees. I believe what you meant to say was that Georgia is an At Will State, This means that the employee works at the will of the employer and the employer can fire the worker for any reason at any time. Look up the "AT WILL" EMPLOYMENT DOCTRINE and it should clarify your misunderstanding. I thought I might help you out on this one since you seem to always want to correct others on this blog, so I thought I might correct you because this one was just flat out stupid! |
