Granite fears closure of Oklahoma State Reformatory

i was just wandering if the rumor i heard is true, that oklahoma is to pull its inmates from private prisons place them in already overcrowded prisons in libaries, and such open spaces and take away education and drug programs?

Well I know for a fact that the Granite is a hells backyard. The amount of people that get raped, beat up, extortioned, stabbed, and ultimately killed because of the incompetence of the guards that are on some inmates payroll or because of the huge amount of dope selling that goes on in there that is the reason why so many dead and so many fihgts. Heck thats why no warden lasts at Granite. May GOD have mercy on all the souls that are guilty of all the injustices that go on in that reched place and may the ones that allow it have time to repent before they meet their maker.

People in the outside world amaze me these rapist, murderes, child molesters, drug dealers, committed these crimes in your own streets with your local law enforcement on patrol and finally got caught then they come to our facilities and act stupid because they come in here wanting to prove that they are gang bangers or there with the white coult or the mexican mafia or the arion brotherhoods or some stupid shit and then people want us to protect them while there in here being stupid ya right if they want to come in here with that kind of attitude then let them kill themselves i'm not about to stop them and alot of other correctional officers probably feel the same way ya we get paid to protect the public, employee and the offender but we also have a fimaly to go home to and don't intend to get killed cause some dumbass wants to prove he's a bad ass when in reality he's scared to death.

you must be an ex inmate if you think that is the reason a warden doesn't last. they move them to keep the Officers on their toe's. only and exinmate would think the stuff you said. quit doing bad stuff and you won't have to go to the Gladitor school!!

And you Buddy are a lop!! you need to go find another job if this is how you feel!! yes you have a family to go home to but you also have Job to do, you also have your fellow officers back to watch!! but it sounds like you are the coward and don't care about your fellow Officer!! if you get off your butt and do it you will be safe. and yes I know way more about the prison. then you probally will ever know and I don't work there or have ever been a inmate!!

And who are you you probably don't have the balls to work in a prison u puss!! as far as fellow officers that's the only one i would ever protect by the way it sounds you would probably run and hide listen buddy i'm not going to waste my time with you when you have no idea what it's like to work here so go tomorrow to your babysitting job at the day care.

how dare you to call me a puss I am not scared to work in a prison and let me tell you My husband came up the ranks at OSR and then made chief else where sO i know all about prison life! my husband was there when all the trouble was going on. you buddy are the worse of the worse if you let them inmate hurt each other. get a life. and by the way I am a school teacher and I love my job. but i still think you need to go find another one!!

Lady you don't have a clue i also worked at OSR and as far as your husband moving up in rank well any body can as long as they kiss the right peoples ass in there so as far as that goes it's bullshit for instance look at deputy warden monday look at how fast he moved up for knowing the right people so it's not a thing that works with your experience just by who you know that's the same way with making chief hell all there buddies sits on the interview board and that's how they make it. you can say what you want about me letting these i/m's hurt each other but what the hell they all deny when you investigate it so whatever lady you can come and deal with it since your a smart ass teacher.

Will I don't know when you worked there! But my husband is not a as kisser and never has been! and if you Know Monday you Know my Husband! I am sure he thinks you are a LOP! so you are worthless. you still have no clue because you turned chicken and ran off. only a chicken would let the Inmates hurt each other.

Its great how everyone runs there mouth and really has no idea. The money spent at the reformatory and for the reformatory are all public record. And I promise repairs are not the major expence of the reformatory. Utilities and food for the inmates as well as clothing are the main expences. As well as the cable tv.

I dunno but personally, I have little sympathy for OSR, I've applied there 5 times and been shot down 5 times. Im 28 and have worked corrections since I was 22, Ive never been fired, suspened, investigated or anything else. I have 2 marks on my record and both are driving while liscense is suspended and both times I was driving home from work. These were not alcohol or drug related issues, this was an inability to pay a fine on time because of trying to balance my bills vs wages. The other thing which is pissing me off, I have worked for CCA, I gave them 2 years of my life, Ive witnessed alot of dirty stuff and worked with several officers whom didnt need to be anywhere near an Inmate. I watched a female officer getting walked out after having relations w/ a convict and even admitted that shed do it again if she had the chance...worst of all they didnt ecven charge her. I've worked for KDOC for 3 years and everyone who involved themselves personally w/ the inmates were given street charges. The other thing was the bullshit hours being threatened w/ termination if you didnt agree to work upto and including 6 of your regular days off a month not to mention at one point 3 mandatory 16 hour days per week. What kind of work do you expect from your officers when you exhaust them and then stress them w/ threats of termination when they can no longer take it??

Don't be so sensitive, she didn't name you personally, so unless the shoe fits why be so defensive, do you know how many guards are firede for selling phones and drugs to the inmates, or worse the male guards working at female prisons getting inmates pregnant or recieving sexual favors in exchange for priviledges? It's really sadand the majority of the guards are greedy and corrupt, not just at granite, but all over.

Dont know who all these people are spouting off. But I have to agree, any officer that turns his back and allows inmates to rape, assault, etc, other inmates would also hit the gate running and let there fellow staff get hurt.

I worked at OSR, way back in the day, back when most on here were still shittin yellow. I have more time in the toilet in D-Unit than most have at OSR. I have now been working for the Feds for the past 23 yrs. I have worked USP's, Detention Centers, Gladiator schools from coast to coast. I have never in my life worked with officers whom would turn their back and allow a fellow officer, or inmate for that matter be assaulted. The hacks that I have worked with are proud of their work, and do the job at hand.

I am currently a Lieutenant, aka Captain at OSR, aka shift supervisor at a Federal Correctional Complex. I can promise everyone on here. If I ever come across one of my officers that are too scared, yellow, lame, lazy, or a lop as to allow a inmate to get assaulted, and not call dueces/body alarm/emergency on the radio, I will personally walk that piece of crap out of my complex. There is nothing worse than a coward. We are hired to do a job, that job is to protect society, protect staff, protect the property of the US Government and protect the inmate population. Bottom line, if a inmate can freely assault each other, staff are next.

Lastly, nothing worse than a dirty hack. If they will bring phones, drugs, or anythig else in to the inmates, they will also bring a in a gun. Dirty hacks should be walked out, their assed stomped at the front tower, and finally prosecuted and sent back inside to their real buddies, the inmates. They are putting the lives of all staff and inmates in jeapordy when they do that stupid crap.

It needs to be closed down and tore down.

I think it should be shut down for the shear fact that this state is putting people in there for Stupid slap on the wrist crap while thier letting murderous child molesters get off Scott free and live right next door to us everyday and locking up our husbands and fathers 100’s of miles away unable to protect us and our children from these monsters!

Tell your husbands and fathers to stop breaking the law and they wont be locked up 100's of miles away.

The staff at OSR does a very good job considering all the stress they are placed under everyday. Over worked, under paid, disrespectful offenders, and a public trying to tell them how to do the job they are trained to do (when most of the public wouldn't last a week in a prison setting).

You want tougher sentencing for "these monsters", you need to blame the judges and D.A.'s. They make those decisions not D.O.C. or OSR.
