Granite fears closure of Oklahoma State Reformatory

Another Tulsan or someone who don't even know a thing about Southwest Oklahoma wants to always jump in on the bandwagon. Granite is old yes but where are you going to put all those criminals? I personally vote for your back yard since you think you know all about this. They aren't wasting money, they actually do appropriate the funds correctly at the Granite Prison unlike your ODOT..So before you go bitching and moaning about one little prison you might talk about other deptartment's in this state wasting money.

The only thing you know about Granite is what your inmate husband tells you!! it is a bad place they do fight and hurt each other all the time!! but they also don't need to close it down. I know all about the prisons because my husband was and is still one of those so called Idoit guards now he is the Chief of security of another prison!!but he spent 9 years in that prison and my boys grew up on that line. and most of those IDIOT Guards are like famliy, your INMATE husband would probally know My Honey if he has been there a while and would tell you that he is NO idiot so youneed to watch your moth about that. yes that place is old but it is still a very good place so you need to watch your mouth about it!! They could move your husband to big Mac how would you feel then!!

I absolutly think they need to close it down,who cares if people lose their jobs,it's not like their doing their jobs like we think they are.I have a brother who is incarserated there and the guards along with the staff are letting him be abused in there.I'm still waiting from a response from the warden,they just wont stop til somebody gets killed.They definetly need to go do some investigating their on the inmates.Boo fukng woo if they lose their jobs,their no better than anybody else out here in the world who dont have a job!

Poor baby you know AJR people like you amaze me. Why don't u tell us what your brother is in there for? The way the article stated it is they should have already been there but they have got in about 100 and expect another 100-200 this next week. They have already sent out most of the inmates from Wyoming and plan on sending all the rest out by June. Not near as full as they said either.

they sent all but cali out...they are filling the facility up with cali's and they hold 2400 inmates and are medium security

i agree with cowgirl we shouldnt be having to pay for them yes granite does have it better than some places like san quentin as i was there recently to visit a loved one i dont think they should be aloud to have cable and such cause alot of the inmates get out and cant find work or a girl to support them so they take the lazy stupid way out and do shit to go back in so they have free room and bourd plus the luxeries and what about the baby rapers they get raped maybe once or twice and sometimes not at all but yet their asses get powdered in there sick is what it is i say what comes around goes around but sometimes that dont happend but i do agree with you cowgirl we pay into social security all our working life and when we get hurt and haft to fight just to get screwed and people go to prison and we haft to support them what world we mite as well just kiss their asses and say i love you and so proud of of you dear dont think so !!!!!!!!!!

first off learn how to spell and if they do close it down that would most likely mean some will get early parole like some baby rapers and robbers. guess you dont mind people like that lurking around your kids nieces nephews ect but most of us dont id rather see people keep their jobs there and the inmates that truly deserve to be treated as such (abused as someone said in here)

For all you people out there that have no idea about i/m's and how good that have it in the system well let me give you just a little bit of information about it. When was the last time yall went to the DR and how much did it cost? Well in prison it cost them 2.00 and 2.00 for there meds they have surgeries when they need them at certain hospitals when was the last time you had a surgical procedure done for 2.00 when was the last time you went to the dentist for 2.00 and got meds for 2.00 how much do you pay rent each month? here it's free for them. how much was your last grocery bill unless your on food stamps? Well in here for them it's free 3 meals a day. How much did you pay for your clothing the last time you went? Well in here they get 5 pants 7 t-shirts 7 button up shirts 7 pr of boxers 7 pr of socks, shoes & boots and when they wear out they get new ones and guess what it's free. So next time you think these assholes have it bad that the officers in these places treat these pieces of shit bad because of there crimes that they committed themselves to be put in here think about what i've just wrote. that's why most of these scumbags don't want to get out and face the real world.

Lol and we wounder why so many people are ok with going to prision! Duh free ride. I have seen homeless people admitt to murder when they didn't even do it. 3 hots and a cot! This is why I believe each state should have work programs make them grow, cook, and clean up their own meals. Make them do their own laundry. They should have weights or tv. They need work programs to learn what they did out in the world. I just feel bad for those few who the justice system failed.
