My favorite restraunt is at The Barren River State Park Lodge . It by far is better than anything close to me . I live about 35 minutes from there , and it is always a wonderful dining expierience .

They have a wonderful buffet , and the servers in the dining room are very efficient and prompt . We have gone for several years and they always greet us by name .

I would recommend the restraunt to anyone . It is located at Barren River Lake at Lucas , Kentucky .

Little Taste of Texas is good. I love the chicken monterey(sp??). Although the last few times I have been, everything has been overcooked (bread, sides, etc.)

plus, they are very crowded. Not near enough room for the business.

One of my favorite places is Los Mariachis and El Mazatlan. They always have good food and good service. My family likes Los better, so we always go there. But El is fabulous as well.

I just had a bad experience with Tumbleweed. We sat there an hour before the waitress told us that she forgot to put our ticket in AND lost it. I had to ask for a discount, and we only got our drinks free. I thought we should have gotten our meal free....

I like trying new places, just to see for myself how something is. I've heard both good and bad things about Rawhide.

The whole serving liquor to minors is pretty bad though.

We would like to assure everyone that we check all ID's at the Steakhouse for the patrons wishing to purchase alcohol. We to our knowledge have never and will never serve a minor in our establishment. We are happy to be in Cave City and we want to be part of our community and hope we have the community support of our business. I do appologise to the party of nine. And would encourage them to please give us another chance to make you unpleasant visit a positive one, Please contact the GM of the property. We serve the highest quality in our restaurant and I demand the highest service from our servers we can provide our customers. We invite everyone to come and try our mouth watering steaks any time.

Rawhide is definately one of the worst restaurants in the area. The two things that I noticed the most was how unprofessional the place is operated. The menu is way over-priced for little old Cave City. The wait staff seems like they have never even waited a table before and just seemed lost. Everything we said to this girl, she kept saying HUH, WHAT, SPEAK UP? A lot of older citizens cannot speak very loudly and it is there job to put there ear to the customer's mouth if necessary to understand them and not act like some rude teenager. The food is also just awful for what you pay. The steak we had was luke warm at best and makes a steak from Ponderosa or Denny's look good. When we visited Rawhide, if we had had one of the two - either good service or good food, we would have been content with our experience, but to think they both just flat out sucked.

I give this place a year at best to stay open. The space Rawhide is in had been unoccupied for at least 10 years. The former restaurant was called the Country Kitchen and was a complete opposite of Rawhide, it was a great place to take your family for a burger and fries at a real good price or just to go and grab a cup of coffee and a dessert. But I know the times have changed in the last 15-20 years and it seems like every restaurant today has to be centered around the words of "liquor", "moist", "alcohol", etc. etc.

What all these restaurant owners don't understand is Cave City is a Christian oriented town, where the median population is older adults. Liquor should be designed for major cities and college towns like Bowling Green. Cave City citizens prefer restaurants like the Cracker Barrel, Jerry's, and the Bel-Air, compared to liquor joints like Sahara and Rawhide. The Sahara Steakhouse is very empty when we drive by it and I believe ever since they have been serving liquor, they have lost business, because a lot of the citizens all over the area quit going there after the liquor law passed.

With the cost of Gas, it seems as if the tourists are not around very much this year either to compensate these liquor restaurants. The Country Kitchen would still be around today, had the motel it is joined to, not been bought and sold a dozen times in the 1990s which included the restaurant. So many of the oldies miss the Country Kitchen in the mornings for breakfast, hot biscuits and jelly, and gossip. Rawhide will meet the same fate as the restaurant where the Days Inn is that changed its name a billion times, the last name it had I believe was Kentucky Steak and Grill.

It just is really sad what was once a landmark for Cave City - The Country Kitchen which was unique for there little jukeboxes at the table and wonderful waffle cakes is now just a piece of garbage in the form or Rawhide. The old look has forever been tainted with the look of a cowboy-teen liquor joint.

After we left church a few Sundays ago, we went to Ryan's and a cockroach crawled across the table and across my plate. The manager gave us a refund and begged us not to say anything, but I reported it to the Health Department. I'm not sure what was ever done but I won't find out because I will never go back.
