Funny how they (Target) can lay off people but can keep building stores. I heard that a little over 300 people got laid off from their maintenance division.

Once that Akaka Bill passes in 2009, DHHL and OHA can move on to the Big Money item ... CASINOs on each island on soveriegn Hawaiian Land!!! Should be no excuses now, Democrats control congress and the administration, they all support the legislation. Time to deliver gang! Enough WAHA NUI!

Hilo already has a Safeway. I think they would be better served with the the choices that target would offer.

Take Econ 101 and you'll find the answer why they are doing what they do.

lol, if the Kaka Bill passes and casinos are built (both of which are a huge stretch of reality), it will further supress the Native Hawaiians by giving them the false hope that they can get rich by gambling.

And what makes you think OHA and DHHL will be able to get casinos heer, they are both State Agencies regardless of the soverignty issue.

When I lived in Hawaii I used to go to Hilo several times a year , except for getting so much rain , Hilo is a great place and far more relaxed than Honolulu ! There is a very good open air market place there to buy produce and fresh fish ! What is the need for another Safeway store aren't there enough local food stores in Hilo ?

Daily Horoscope for May 19

Scorpio

There are days when you feel you can't say or do anything right, but happily this isn't one of them. In fact, it's a wonderful day in which everything goes well and it's remarkably easy to get on well with whoever happens to be around. Not that you want to spend your time with just any old person. You'd much rather get together with some close friends or that special someone in your life.
