Football games and school closings.

Ok. Why is that the schools around here will close up for a week. Hillsdale just recently shutdown til weds. Their reason is because of the flu outbreak. But why do they still insist that its ok for their students who play football and sports in particular to play?? Here is some food for thought. They will play kids from other schools. They might come here or our kids will travel. They will travel all together in a bus. Just like an airplane its ripe for the flu to jump from one host to another. Smart move there! Next football is a contact sport. So example for you. Kid A has the flu, but is not feeling the effects yet, he tackles kid b, who doesnt have the flu. But since they are so close they might as well be kissing the flu is passed on to kid b. Who is not from this school. Kid B goes back to his hometown with the gunk and passes it to his family and kids at said school.
So just thank good ol Richy Ames when the entire school is sick and the parents too. Because remember Sports are more important than keeping this whole swine flu or any kind of flu from spreading like wildfire. Better yet, if this makes sense to you and your mad too. Could it be the administrations of the schools that are closing don't believe that the swine flu presents any real problem and that closing the schools is being done for another undisclosed reason?

The last time the swine flu (or as one of my customers called it, the flyin' flu) was given hysterical publicity was in the early 1970s. Nothing came of it.
