Boy dies after parents tie him to tree

What heinous people! Yes they should be tried for murder! May the poor child rest in peace!

Lord have mercy! WTF is wrong with people? I hope these parents get their just deserts.

OMG!!!! It's no wonder the boy was acting up with d!ckhead parents like them. I hope to he!! they get the max.

I cannot imagine what that child must have gone through during his life- especially his last two days. This is horrendous. May God have mercy on their souls because I cannot believe that any of us will. I hope they are tied to a tree until they die.

My goodness.... this is just too hard to believe. My mind won't even let me think how it would be to mistreat a child, let alone my own.
How terrible can this be for his little brothers.

It would be nice to see justice done, they chose their actions-even the death penalty would be to easy=this child wasn't able to take an injection and go to sleep...hopefully the other two children can be placed in good homes. How can anyone phamtom such an act? There is no excuse. No child can ever be bad enough to be tied to a tree or to anything elese. Were there not any neighbors around. Surely someone had to hear him. Perhaps the only good that can be taken is to listen closely and you will hear his cry in the sound of his death=he had no voice, he had no help-the horrible silence of child abuse. Society has to be the voice for the one's who feel they do not have one. If you suspect abuse, there is probably a reason why you suspect it, why the thought has passed your conscious, be their voice and report it. You might be their only hope.

Poor child. My heart breaks each time I read stories like this.

Some of the most heinous crimes ever committed have been committed against a child, a voiceless victim. I know we are supposed to presume innocent until proven guilty, but I can't imagine how they are not guilty!!

You know, these people COULDN'T have intended to kill their child but what in the world could they have possibly been thinking. Can anyone here even picture themselves treating their child this way? Not likely. They have killed one son, lost the other two, ruined the whole family's life forever... just can't get this off my mind. I wish my kids were close by so I could hug 'em.

I have no words...Well ok, I do have some but you guys have already said them.

Bad parents, bad.

That having been said could we be a little less quick to condem them? Things we don't know. Was this a regular punishment for bad behavior? Was this a specific punishment for running away. Confining is done by parents all the time for run aways. Was this child bound to the tree, tight up against it, or was it more of a leash thing? Was food and water provided or were these evil people depriving the child during extreme weather. In effect knowingly murdering the child.

How often was he checked on? If the stepmother had checked on him an hour earlier and he died in that span of time we have information to go on. If they tied him up the night before and failed to look at him till the next afternoon, then that tells us something else.

Noone has put forward external causes. A thirteen year old, possibly a run away, could very easily also be using drugs. None of this excuses what happened, but damn folks in reading the blogs you all seem real quick to want to burn people at the stake.

The string the other day was a prime example. Are you aware that there are numerous offenses that fall under the sex offender registry? I remember reading about a boyfriend and girlfriend that had sex, but due to laws in their state he got charged with statutory rape. They were 2 years apart. He served a few months, but has to register for the rest of his life with the registry.

The guy was no pediphile or sicko, but he gets treated just the same. No its not me, before you all get up on high horses. I'm just looking for some common sense and logic.

Your absolutely right-its just mind boggling. Their actions ruined their family forever. It will never be the same. They need lots of prayer. Perhaps instead of hugs, you could give your children a phone call to let them know your there, and you care, and there in your heart and you love them. I try and call my mom and daddy often just to say just that. I love them. YOu never know what tomorrow will bring or if it will come. Speak whats within your heart. Your children, even though they may know it would probably like to still hear it.

No... they deserve total and quick condemnation as well as damnation. They tied a child to a tree to stay overnight.That mean he was left alone through out the night, helpless and defenseless.... it says he was bound with plastic ties. I believe the same thing cops use now for handcuffs. They left him there in the 90 degree heat after enduring the long night. I hope those rotten arse disgusting pigs are beaten to death in prison slooooooooly.

There is NO law that prohibits sex between an underage person and a person 2 years older than the first IF it is consentual. The law is that they have to be more than 4 years older than the other. So number one, that comment doesnt hold water.

Number two- PLEASE tell me your comment was a joke. If it wasnt, ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?! What does it matter what kind of tether this CHILD was tied to?? The fact remains that he was TIED TO A TREE. You dont tie your kid to anything, much less a tree- much less for two days. I always knew you were liberal but this is ridiculous. Good news- from what I've heard, rapists and child killers are the first on the block for prison murder and rape. Hope they get EVERYTHING they deserve.

A couple of quick things. The four year rule is a recent addition, and was not universal throughout all states. The case I was speaking of is fairly old. I would assume pre law change.

As for my questions. Do I think these people are awful, yes. Do I think they broke the law, yes. Do I think we don't have all the information, well seeing that it says in the article they are with holding information till after an autopsy, then yes I think we are missing information.

WNCNative, you have read me for a while now. You know I am conservative and have no problem with righteous retribution. You also know I like to think, and consider things. I wouldn't go so far as to call my previous post a mental exercise, but maybe thoughts for consideration.

Lets be angry and want justice for the boy. But before we hang the nooses over the tree limb lets think for a moment what the frig were these idiots thinking when they did this.
