I think that Police do have a very difficult job , but that does'nt give the right to do what this Deputy done. He disregarded the law by not using lights and sirens. If Mrs. Frye saw lights coming toward her she would have known something was wrong and could have been ready for anything to happen. But now it is to late and this Deputy is going to walk away killing a 2year old child and not being punished for it. I bet if a regular person like me or you we would be punihed to the max.

Sometimes accidents happen, get over it.

Lights and Sirens do not make a difference when traveling above 80-90 or so. I have been surprised many times by Law Enforcement and Volunteer Fire Fighters zooming passed me, and I never saw the flashing lights, nor heard the siren until I had already been passed, day and night.

I'd say reckless driving and possibly involuntary manslaughter at worst, after all...as the lefties say, "revenge won't bring the victim back."

Apparently you are not very observant when driving.
Hang up the dang phone and drive...pay attention to what is going on around you or you might be next or someone you love.

"Get over it"?

That's a terrifying statement. The loss of a child is not something you just "get over", and it's not something that the parents are going to ever forget. She had a right to a future and he took that away from her.

This man was wreckless and he should pay. If it were anyone other than a police officer, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

I'm sure he regrets it happened, and no sentence is going to change it. But the family deserves justice. THIS CHILD DESERVES JUSTICE!

it is correct alot of police cars get wrecked here. You only have to drive by Rutherford Road t see them sitting outside to be fixed. IT IS NEVER IIN THE LOCAL PAPER. The local rag is an extension of the Sheriff's Department.

One of the biggest and most important jobs for law enforcement is to change the image that it gives the public. Officers constantly speed well above the limit when going to school or other non essential destinations. Many drink at a party or club and drive home when they should not, but they write tickets the next day for the same thing. I know they are human, but they must set the example, to answer a higher calling. Law Enforcement is a high calling to answer, so please answer it with integrity and do what is right, not only in the law book but also in your heart.

120mph for a domestic violence charge? Why no sirens and flashing lights?

Face it, the guy was a rookie who wasn't thinking. A 2 yo kid died because of it. Give the guy some jail time. It won't bring the child back but it could serve to send a message out that behavior like that won't be tolerated.

My heart goes out to the Frye family, I hope you guys get some justice out of this.

May the little girl rest in peace. My heart goes out to her family.

Justice cannot be served in this case but I do hope the punishment is as severe as allowed by law.

It sickens me to hear you people gripe and belly ache about the police. When something goes bump in the night 90% of you cowardly grab the phone, pull the covers over you head and call the cops. After they get to your house you are still too spineless to walk to your own door and speak with the officer unless a dispatcher has confirmed with you that the officer is there.
Earlier this year two Charlotte Officers were killed in a North Tryon project. Where was your pathetic outcry then? Nationwide, over 150 officers have given thier lives for you this year alone. Where is the call for justice there?
For you belly achers, always know that while your local officers might make mistakes from time to time, some minor, some grave, know that they are human, just like you. Where they separate themselves from you is that the have the heroic courage to step up and face that danger day to day so that you dont have to. Which is a good thing, because you have not the courage to make a difference yourself.

It is because people have been trained to be this way. If they would change the law where a person could kill anyone trespassing on their property after dark the world would be a better place. Also it would keep the cowboy cops in check. Being a cop when its dark kind of gives you this extra energy boost, like drinking a lot in a bar. You become 7 ft. 2. and bullet proof. Having different laws and doing away with the Weenie Judges will go along way in slowing crime down.
