I have lost my cats in the flooding, near County Road A. One is black and his name is Sam, and the other is tan and is named Enzo. They are super super friendly and Enzo will be probably be crying like the devil.

They have all their shots.

My heart goes out to the families of the Lake Delton area. We spent many summers at Heidi's Hideaway Resort across from Lost Canyon. I loved that area and the lake. I am so sorry for all those that lost their homes and my heart is heavy for the person who lost their two cats. I pray that they will be found safe and sound. Please start posting pictures of them and check with the local animal rescues and shelters. Animals need to be taken to safety too. This is just so unbelievable. When my son just called to tell me, he was clearly shaken up, as I took him there several times every summer as a young boy until he was 18. He is now 27 and visits there with his wife. I pray the work to rebuild will start soon.

I saw Lake Delton as it was swept away into the Wisconsin River. I have never in my 50 years watched such devestation happen so quickly. This will cost the area Billions in revenue. The next problem is the pressure on the Mirror Lake dam above Lake Delton. If this dam overflows or breaks all the water will follow the course set by the breach of Lake Delton and flow into an already swelling Wisconsin River. How much more can this River take before it to overflows its banks? Some of the people who had there $500,000 home split in half are not covered by flood insurance. They were not in a flood plain. This problem is occuring all over Wisconsin.

With more rain in the forecast it could get much worse. I was told that many summer employee's who count on the money earned for school and other living needs have already been told the jobs they hade no longer exist. This is a catastrophic incident that will have long reaching effects. If I had not seen this happen I would have had a difficult time believing it. I have pictures of fish trapped in the little areas of shallow water splashing around some where four feet long, The DNR said they would not recommend eating them. So they will just wait to die, the birds are already gathering.

People where gathering to see what I was seeing, and all the comments I heard were the same,"This is just too unreal" but it is real, and it will effect the Dells area and the water will effect rivers and Lakes all the way to Madison. It was kind of weird, where I was taking my pictures there where workers siding the condominium or rental units, they may not be used for some time. I was able to walk out into the Lake barely getting my self wet, except for the mud, but the smell was already starting to establish itself. It is something that may only happen once in a lifetime and I think that once is enough. It will take some time to reestablish the area, but it will be restored, the Lake is to great of an asset to the Dells area.

My wife and I have four cat's and we can share the feelings you must be experiencing, it would be a great lose for us to have our cats taken in the way your's were. You have our best wishes on the return of your loved pets.

This was almost inevitable, the dam on Dells Creek was in such a position that water could easily find ways around. There's a number of impoundments in Wisconsin that would start bypassing dams if the water rose more than 3 feet. I would also have flood insurance anytime my house was lower in elevation than the water withheld by the nearest upstream dam. The reason I don't have flood insurance is the nearest pond is 45 feet lower in elevation. The nearest river is the Mississippi and to flood my house it would have to rise 170 feet, I don't think it'll ever get anywhere near that mark.

"Try not building in a nab-made flood zone next time. Unless you like the smell of wet cat"by Nick Saint Paul, MN

It figures someone from Minnesota would make a commment like this - clueless and classless - stay in your own state then.

"Just a thought" is most likely a 19-year old, unemployed moron who's posting with the only purpose of making people angry. Don't give him the satisfaction of posting a response (as I just did)

To see a photo of my missing cats, Sam and Enzo, click on this link and scroll to the bottom:
http://gorgeousforgod.com/...

They are super friendly (though probably very scared). They have all their shots. You can pick up. They won't bite.

Enzo (the tan one) was lost near Country Road A. And Sam (the black one) is over on Old Hwy 12. We were evacuated on Sunday due to flooding on Old Hwy 12 and loss of electricity, and I was transporting Enzo to my new temporary home, and he freaked and ran away before we could get him inside.

if you see them or find them, contact lisa_natoli@yahoo.com

I appreciate your help very much.

"Just a Thought" does not represent Minnesota. Too bad FMA had to turn it back around to a neighbor-bashing debate.

Obviously, it was a heartless posting by a keyboard-challenged loser.

Everyone that I've heard talking about this disaster is talking about it with compassion. And they're all Minnesotans, belive it or not.

Not all of us in Minnesota are like that. Our prayers are with all affected by these floods and those that could still be.

Lisa

Good luck and prayers that you find your cats. I'm sure they will find their way back to you. Let us know if you get them returned.

I feel so bad for everyone there. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. I am from Des Moines, Iowa and I remember the flood of 93 as though it was yesterday. How it flooded out homes, businesses, a whole historical district called Valley Junction. We are now experiencing the same type of reality again with lots of rain and high waters. Waters are flooding out basements, homes, and businesses in our downtown area are being evacuated, Des Moines water works make go under water again which in turn will cause them to have to shut the water off. That was not pleasant in 93 hopefully it won't happen again.

Godspeed to all of you. We came back after the flood of 93 and i know that you will too. Have great memories as a kid growing up of the Dells. Such a great area, hard to think of this happening

Pretty mean spirited message. I think I just learned more about you than I did about typical Minnesotans.

Daily Horoscope for December 16

Cancer

Today's New Moon in your sixth house reminds you not to neglect your health or general well-being. It's the ideal time to arrange a check-up with your doctor or dentist, or to follow up a medical query. Cancerians love yummy food, and the festive season is hardly the best time to start a diet, but you still might want to monitor your calorie intake.
