A special circuit clerk’s examination will be administered to any persons wishing to run for the remainder of a circuit clerk’s unexpired term not less than 30 days nor more than 60 days before the deadline for filing for election.
You must take and pass the clerks exam if you are planning to run for circuit clerk in the 2006 election. This year it was in December and I assume it was in 2006 also. It was said Claudette did not take the test either and no one was challenging Nancy. No one expects her to resign. If they want to appoint Claudette in April as they did and she hasn't taken the test the judge gives her and her only a special test.

I cannot find who had filed but I assume no one except Nancy. Since Claudette will be appointed it is not necessary for her to file.
To sum it up no one has taken the test or or filed to run except Nancy. Claudette (and Claudette only) will be given a special test by the judge. No one else will get that opportunity. No one had any idea the clerk would resign.
