So proud to be a resident of Ossineke and not Alpena anymore. BIG DIFFERENCE. Alpena was slowly getting eating away by drugaddicts and people makebelieving they live in detroit like it's cool or something. Like mold eats away at bread. Ossineke is so clean. So pure. So true. Best friends you could ever find reside here. True friends. Friendly business people. Even the Amish make you smile. Just think about it. Amish. Makes you smile don't it? Long beautiful drives down backroads, while listening to music... anytime of the year... it's breathtaking, relaxing... Ossineke. O-TOWN! Ya dig? It's the next coolest thing. All your "people" will be talking about it. Like you gotta have it or something. JUST WATCH.(Besides Stoner of course.. he had too many Alpena-lifer friends) P.S. I'm not talking about the hard-working, family-loving, old-timer minded peeps still residing in Alpena. I do love lots of people in alpena.. but right back to the molded piece of bread... there's always one good part just trying to hang on.

I never said anything about, "bad guys" not going 10 miles down the road. What are you talking about? I never said anything about safe. No one anywhere is safe. I never tried to compare my words to anything of your understanding, apparently. I just said, I can go to the store, the bar, or for a walk down the street and not have such judgemental, hypocritical, stuck-up, drugged-out happiness-wannabes around me. People are seriously happy here. They don't need to compare their possessions to seem "good", they don't need to do drugs to be "hang-out-worthy". People here are friendly, helpful and honestly happy. We don't drive around on a Friday night looking for something to do, then end up shooting heroin because that's what everyone else is doing. We make our own fun without dependance. It's just a cool place. Don't be jealous.

P.S. There wasn't a "murder" you news-consuming junkie. You don't even know the facts. You sound like the type to believe that Hiroshimia was really neccessry because the news at the time says it. It was two drunks getting in a fight, one refused medical assistance and died two days later. So what. Mistakes happen. Yeah there are lowlifes in every area. Just fewer where I live and it makes me happy. Even the lowlifes around here would be willing to help you out if you needed it.

What did anything in my comment say about setting goals? I bought a house. I got a good paying job without having to move too far from a very supportive and loving family. I am married to a wonderful person who also has a highly respected job close to the area. You know nothing about my goals, but I gaurentee my succession in life thus far exceeds your own and you're probably 3 times my age. I hope you have a nice day :)

..and are you considered the, "professional" in this area?
What exactly does this make you?
Are you a "better person" by calling people you know nearly nothing about, names that that type of person couldn't help if they truely were that "r" word? Apparently you don't live in Ossineke.

WELL A LITTLE TOUCHY AREN'T WE?

I never said anything about, "bad guys" not going 10 miles down the road. What are you talking about? I never said anything about safe. No one anywhere is safe.

YES YOU DID...IN THE SENTENCES BELOW. YOU NOW FEEL SAFE FROM BEING JUDGED BY PEOPLE WHO ARE IN THE COMMUNITY.

I never tried to compare my words to anything of your understanding, apparently. I just said, I can go to the store, the bar, or for a walk down the street and not have such judgemental, hypocritical, stuck-up, drugged-out happiness-wannabes around me. People are seriously happy here.

YOU ARE SAFE FROM FEELING BAD BECAUSE YOU THINK OTHERS DON'T FIND YOUR STUFF UP TO THEIR STANDARDS.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN--- DEPENDANCE?

It's just a cool place. Don't be jealous
I'M NOT, BELIEVE ME.

P.S. There wasn't a "murder" you news-consuming junkie. You don't even know the facts. You sound like the type to believe that Hiroshimia was really neccessry because the news at the time says it. HUH ??

It was two drunks getting in a fight, one refused medical assistance and died two days later. So what. Mistakes happen. MISTAKES HAPPEN!!!! WELL I HOPE NONE OF YOUR LOVED ONES IS EVER SENT TO THE GREAT BEYOND BY A MISTAKE.

IF ONE INDIVIDUAL PUTS HIS/HER HANDS ON ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL AND THAT INDIVIDUAL DIES, THE LAW MUST ACT. DRUNKEN STUPIDITY IS NOT AN EXCUSE.

Yeah there are lowlifes in every area. Just fewer where I live and it makes me happy. Even the lowlifes around here would be willing to help you out if you needed it.
I'D BET THAT THE RATIO OF GOOD TO BAD PEOPLE IS IDENTICAL IN ALPENA OR OSSINEKE OR ANY OTHER LOCALE IN THIS AREA.

I DON'T BEGRUDGE YOUR NEW FOUND FEELINGS OF SAFETY OR HAPPINESS BUT HAPPINESS IS NOT AFFECTED BY GEOGRAPHY. HAPPINESS IS FOUND WITHIN EACH OF US. WORK ON THAT.

Actually there is a different mentality from Alpena to Ossineke. Maybe it's because it's nice and quiet and we can hear the waves crashing on the beach instead of subwoofers and tires squealing in the middle of the night. Maybe because we don't have to suffer the stink that permeates from the factories on the north side. Maybe because when we patronize the businesses in the village we aren't there to shoplift as if we were in Walmart. Maybe it's the kickass fireworks we can see freely up and down the coast and not have to "find a good place to park" to watch the city's from afar. We are not immune to crime and violence, that happens everywhere. Even Mayberry had plenty of moonshine.

Really,I would like to know what kind of drugs some of the people on here take.Talking about Ossineke like it is a vacation destination out of a magazine. And if you visit there all your troubles will disappear, are you people crazy? You talk about not shoplifting at the local store like you might at walmart, maybe that is because most of the things at the village market are probably out dated, and what could they really have someone might want to steal. And yes I'm sure people shoplift at walmart, maybe because that is pretty much the only store in town. And the fireworks that you can see up and down the coast, first you sound like you live in a resort for the wealthy, but the only reason you stay there to watch the fireworks is so when you get drunk or high you don't have as far to crawl home. And thetruth you bought a home in Ossineke maybe because they are cheaper unless you are on the lake.So since crime is everywhere what this means is if someone breaks into your home or someone assaults you it will just take the police longer to get there. And if you are unlucky enough to get hurt or have a heart attack chances are you will be dead before you get to Alpena General, but that is okay the fine hospital that it is you will probably die anyway.thetruth I am happy that you love where you live, but get real it's Ossineke, don't try to make it out like you live in a lavish home on the ocean.

Why the hell are you so angry Wake Up? Just like Alpena and everywhere else, some people here do drugs, and some don't. I happen to be one that doesn't. Never said it's a vacation destination out of a magazine. Never said all your troubles disappear. If you've ever been to Mr. Ed's, they carry stuff for need not greed and it's not outdated whatsoever. Yes, plenty of my neighbors are quite wealthy and I can see the fireworks from my house. No one has ever broken into my house and if they even try they will be dead way before they get one little toe inside.
Alpena is hardly a hub of cultural activity either. You sure have some serious issues. Hate to disappoint your all-knowing facade. No, that's not true. I LOVE to disappoint you and tell you you are wrong WrOnG WRONG.

I guess that all depends on what you consider wealthy.I live in town and can see the fireworks from my home, and I am sure some of my neighbors are wealthy to,I walk every morning and do not see the people you talked about in your post.My only issue is you have no clue what you are talking about.

Your 'issue' is I have no clue what I'm talking about? Let's see, born and raised in Alpena, lived there for 29 years before I moved to Ossineke, so I know exactly what I'm talking about. Who are these people you don't see that you claim I talk about in my post?

I don't see the judgmental,hypocritical,stuck- up,drugged out people you refer to.I see friendly people walking their dogs and people who are working on their yards in the spring.Never have I said hi to one of them and been ignored.I don't think I have ever seen drugged up people wandering the streets. So tell me where you see these people.I think you are the one being judgmental. And if I was 3 times your age that would put me at 87,if I were that age I wouldn't care what you had to say.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Capricorn

You feel like overindulging yourself in some way today, and why not? Throw caution to the wind and eat your way through a big bar of chocolate, or have a retail therapy session that leaves you reeling from the amount of money you've spent. There's a definite chance you could get carried away and tell a whopper of a story that has little resemblance to what really happened. What on earth has got into you?
