Ya done good Tres Toros, bueno. I still hadn't found any. Matter of fact, I never have. It requires a lot of walking and that holds me back. Maybe during the mushroom hunting I can trip over one that has been overlooked by the other antler shed hunters and/or critters. Would love to have one (or a set) on the wall to glorify what we have in our back woods.

in the woods, you can't exspect someone to give up thier hot spot.look around the woods the end of feburary until you find the bulls.two tracking on the back roads works. a good pair of water proof hiking boots is a must. good luck

I,m starting to get a little antsy, the end of Feburary is getting near, and so is elk shed hunting. Time to start walking and get into some sort of phyisal shape for the miles of walking that is required to find the the elk shed.Good luck, and let me know how you did.Thinking of guiding.Just a thought.

spotted a small calf elk the other day on decheau lake road. I don't think it was alright because it wasn't scared of the truck, or us, and it was only off the road about 10 yards, it continuned to stand there after we left. Two days latter we saw the same calf in the same spot give or take a yard or to. It was still acting wierd, and stood there as we drove off.

First thing came to mind. Mama got poached. Of course a host of scenerio's are in play out in nature. Have you contacted the MDNRE? Though they probably can't or won't do a thing, they would likely want to know about the calf.
when is season open for poaching poachers anyway?
