Many of these urban city planner types seem to have forgot why people moved to the suburbs: mainly to avoid crime and the riff raff. Connectivity and walkability are their mantras.

Walkability and connectivity promote crime.

These concepts invite people into the community who cannot afford cars. Suburban neighborhoods are often times difficult to get in and of unless you know the area therefore deterring criminals.

Look at what connectivity has done for Clintonville, German Village and Bexley; they are relatively affluent communities that are completely crime ridden because the riff raff can easily get in and out. In my opinion, Hilliard should not try to emulate these communities - if one wants to live in a walkable community then they should move to one. Some people like the suburbs for what they have to offer: safety and no riff raff.
