Wonder why they don't use bomb sniffing dogs to sniff it out? I know they just love blowing Stuff up! Hey why don't they use one of those Whitehall
Rottweilers to do it. Save the tax payers some doh! Win Win Situation, get rid of two problems at once.

if they can get close enough to it to set explosives and blow it up, why can't they get close enough to examine it w/o blowing it up? these are supposed to be "experts" for Pete's sake. and how did you know it wasn't dangerous after you blew it up? wouldn't that explosion have also set off any other explosives immediately present, so as to not really be able to know for sure in the end?
