Sacred land or not, this is a national forest that should be protected and respected not developed. Paveing the eleven miles from deerfeild to rochford would just increase the amont of people traveling it, which would in turn increase the water pollution. This water all flows to Rapid City, and then into the madison aquafer. Sometimes you have to drive on gravel, or hike to see what you want to see. Not everthing needs a concrete,(or even worse asfault), driveway to its doorstep. That is the beauty of national Forests. Not everyone is meant to see everything.
