Only in Onida would the "LOCAL BAR" be owned by the "LOCAL SHERIFF". How ironic is it that the mayor was arrested!!!

People in the area ( as well as surrounding counties' law enforcement) knew that the local Sully Co. sheriff was crooked with the idea that as long as nobody was looking, he could do whatever suited him. This includes making things up and lying on the stand. It wasn't a surprise a few years ago and it probably isn't now. The fact that Onida elects a sherrif who owns the "local bar" only means two things: the locals let him get by with it or they don't have anyone to run against him.

The people of Onida elected Stahl as Sheriff knowing he owned the bar. If it is such a bad deal someone else should quit the bitching and actaully do something about it or shut up. Wickersham should be given a medal for what he did. The loser who had his kid at the bad should have had a whole lot more than a slap

You live in Texas, correct? How would know anything about the circumstances in Onida, if it is second hand information, assuming you are a mature adult, then you would know not to judge nor make accusations such as the above quoted without firsthand experience. Stahl does an excellent job in this town. Onida doesn't have drugs at every corner or prostitutes or many arrests for that fact. That is not due to Stahl not doing his job, that is because Onida is a good place that doesn't have many law breakers. If you really have such a problem with Stahl and what he is doing grow some balls use your real name and sign the fricken paper and send it to him. Grow up.

If the mayor is arrested. He needs to step down from his elected post, resign, let the good folks of Onida elect another individual who is more qualified and does not have an arrest record, especially involving alcohol or any type of violence history. This sounds like an issue for the South Dakota State Ethics Board or another legal entity to formally deal with this sensitive issue, perhaps the Governor needs to step in and lay down the law.

Hi George.

I graduated from Gettysburg HS decades ago.

I have many fond memories of basketball, football, and track meets with the Chargers.

When did you graduate from Onida (or was it Sully Buttes when you attended)?

That would be like the Sheriff of Gettysburg taking my home and all personal property away from me, and not following through with the sheriffs report on breaking and entering my home by the lotlord. Where is the justice on this. I believe Potter County is corrupt.

Gettysburg is in Potter County

Onida is in Sully County.

Your initials look familiar.

Are you from Gettysburg?

I used to live in Gettysburg, my brother and I had bought a trailer home, parked at Rivers Edge by 212, then my brother got terminal cancer and passed on, I came to stay with my sons in MN, the lotlord broke into my home boarded it up then The Potter Co. Sheriff and Mr. Ware took everything I owned and nobody will do anything about. Talk about a county being corrupt.
