Democrats Org Rejects GOTP

Earlier today i was killing some time surfing the web and ran across this ad.

The Democratic National Committee is looking to hire a senior email campaigner to run one of the largest and most active email programs in the country. You will be responsible for planning, writing, and executing grassroots email campaigns using fundraising, citizen advocacy, and local organizing tactics to achieve our goals.

You will work daily to engage millions of Americans to support President Obama and Democrats across the country, and coordinate with senior leadership to shape our voice.

Qualifications:

•2+ years experience running an email program for an electoral campaign, advocacy organization or non-profit; or working in a high-level position for a major digital organizing program
•Expert organizing and campaigning knowledge; should be familiar with email/digital organizing, communication, and fundraising best practices
•Keen understanding of how to recognize a great hook, how to craft emails that move people to act, and what actions will achieve the right impact at the right time
•Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
•Strong, sharp, and personable writing style
•Familiarity with online organizing platforms (e.g. Blue State Digital, Convio, GetActive)
•Familiarity with mail list segmentation and mass mail platforms
•Willing to work long hours as needed
•Ability to work under deadline pressure
•Ability to manage multiple complex projects
•Passionate about engaging millions of Americans in advancing President Obama's agenda, strengthening the Democratic party, and changing the country
•Bachelor's Level Degree required, higher degree preferred
•Candidates must be willing to relocate to Washington, DC

Preference given for experience with:

•Statistical analysis and reporting
•Graphic design and page layout

The first thought that popped in my head was that GOTP must have been hired to do this sort of thing.

Since i have been more than disgusted with the racism, sexism, bigotry, vulgar language etc that it has posted here. I decided to send them an email asking if the democratic party really endorses such ideas and behavior. I explained that i dont endorse either party, but if this is the views of the democrats. I will cast my votes elsewhere.
I included copies of every post GOTP has made, with appropriate links and exactly who i am on the boards. I also asked if GOTP could have been hired by the group to do post such as these.

Not long after i sent the email, i decided to follow up with a phone call because the suspense was killing me.

After being transfered three times and my personal info gathered twice. I finally got the voice mail of a lady that seemed to be over this portion.

I left a voice message explaining my previous email, my concerns etc. Then hung up.
I didnt really expect a return call, just wanted this poor behavior to be brought to someones attention.

At 8:30 tonight, an alert went off stating i had a voicemail on my office phone. I usauly dont get messages at this time, so i decided to check it.

To my astonishment, it was a member of democrats.org !

She didnt give much details, just to call her back so we could discuss this matter. I jotted down her number and headed to the garage where i could talk in quiet.

I called her and the number she had given was her direct number. I am pretty sure it was a cell phone, which made things feel more comfortable then dealing with something like a call station.

She was extremly nice and seemed very bright. She was very easy to talk to and seemed as concerned as i was about the matter.

I told her my screen name and she asked if i was posting under any of the other screen names. We started going through the post.... not all of them but a few she was selecting as she read.
Her first response about GOTP was "she must be getting bad information from somehere. This does not align with the beliefs of the democratic party". As we went further into the post, she stopped and said "Do you want to go through all of them? I am getting very offended and would rather discuss possible solutions". Of course i agreed.

She then stated "To me, this appears to be a tea party member trying to spread false information and be offensive as possible along the way". I did agree that this is very possible.

I then asked her about GOTP possibly being hired to spam forums like this. She did agree that this was also possible, but these posters have strict guidelines on ethic, talking points and prejudice.... we both laughed when she said that.

She assured me a full investigation will occur and if GOTP is indeed a member of there organization. It would be corrected immediatley.
She also said this statement, which is what i was after.

" This poster could be alot of things, but she is not a member of the democratic party. Nor does she represent our core beliefs and behavior. I could go out on a limb and claim that she may have a serious mental condition, tea party imposter or is a previous member that has gone rogue".

"We will be monitoring the topix forums you have outlined within your email for further such acts. We have dealt with similiar issues in the past and have ways to end such slander against our party"

It was about a 20 minute conversation and alot was talked about i didnt include. The statements above was going off pure memory and not actuals quotes.

I have never claimed to be employed by the Democrat Party, nor do I agree with all their policies.

I do believe that the Republican Party (now the Grand Old Taliban Party) is as evil a party as the Taliban is to women when it comes to women's rights, minorities of all types and the middle class.

Again, unless we show these Republican right wing nuts that we are mad as hell and won't take anymore AT THE POLLS, you will governed by mindless austerity, woman hating anarchists.

Well said. The American people are waking up to what has become of our political parties but I have to say the republicans take the prize. Never in my life have I witness such a far move to the right it reminds me of Hitler’s party.
