The parents who are angry at the limo driver are disgusting. He didn't involve the police; their kids involved the police when they put him in a position of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Idiot parents who lash out at the person who caught their kids with their hands in the cookie jar should be thrown in jail just on general principle.

This is a perfect example of how it takes a village to raise a child. This limo driver had every right to not allow alcohol in his vehicle for his underaged clients. The parents, irritated as they may be, should back this decision. Their children broke the law, violated the contract w the limo company and disregarded the rules of the school.

You all know why it is such a big deal. The article reports some have athletic suspensions. I guarantee you the running backs parents are the ones who threatened to lawyer up!

I am for the driver. He did the right thing. If something had happened to one of those kids he probably would be charged and jailed and sued. If they do lawyer up I hope the judges have enough sense to throw it out and rip those parents a new one!.

Charge those parents who condone underage drinking and complain that their child has a right to drink alchohol in public with felony child endagerment.
When they have to defend how they are raising their kids to break the law they will have to rethink their threats against the limo driver and his employer.

The man did the right thing and this whole artical is a peice of #### "Ohhh how could they, will they drive themselves drunk next time?". This guy should be hailed as a hero. Most limo drivers would have taken the money and shut up

Why should a limo driver put himself and his company at risk for a bunch of snot-nosed little punks who only care about themselves? If something had happened, they would have tried to blame him somehow. It's one thing to tolerate your kid having a drink under certain circumstances, but to stick up for it? To complain and threaten to sue? Pathetic.

High school seniors drinking beer? Yawn. How does this even qualify as news?
As usual, the responses on this board are way over-the-top and complete overreactions. What else is new?

I love all the phony outrage on this board. I remember all of you "responsible citizens" when you were in high school. Mostly you were the ones who spent all 4 years so wasted you couldn't walk. Bunch of phony hypocrites, that's all you are

IIt is unfathomable that some of the parents would even consider questioning whether or not the limo driver did the right thing. Of course he did the right thing. Sue the company that didn't look the other way? That is pathetic.
It’s going to happen anyway isn’t a good enough reason to condone it or just let it happen. Everyone needs to stop looking the other way and take responsibility for their actions. Alcohol promotes other bad decisions aside from driving some of which include sex and violence. Is that the sort of behavior you really want your children engaging in?

John McCardell and his group are all wrong in their attempt to lower the drinking age to eighteen. That will not solve the problem; it would make it worse.

Leonel Cesar did the right thing. I'd thank him if it were my kids. Those parents who were mad should think about the Oswego teens.

These parents who objected would be the same ones who would have probably sued if something would have happened to their little boozer darlings. The limo driver did the right thing, he didn't allow a bunch of punk kids to call the shots and the company he works for should be happy to have a responsible, sensible employee representing their company!

The fact that these parents have the b**s to be angry at the limo driver is a sad reflection on society. Their anger is GROSSLY misdirected -- um, hel-LO, your underage kids were planning to consume ALCOHOL!!! But no: the kids get patted on the head "there, there, little Johnny/Janie...that's ok!!!" while the driver incurs wrath for not only doing the right thing but showing incredible integrity for not being swayed by a monetary bribe. He's to be highly commended; i hope the limo company will give him a big promotion and raise. As for the parents who complained, they need to be charged with neglect. They obviously look the other way when their kids break the law; in fact, sounds like they (the parents) likely PROVIDED the alcohol! Un-f***ing-real.

Boohoohoo...the silver spoon Highland Park teens got busted! Good for them. I'm sorry but the law is the law. Bet their parents would be plenty ticked off if they drank at home and the parents got fined. Congrats to the driver. You did the right thing.

Limo driver demonstrated he has significantly greater intelligence and judgment than the parents who complained about him reporting the matter to the police. He was also a much better role model for the kids.
Can one imagine if one of those kids had alcohol poisoning, took advantage of one of the girls, stumbled out of the car into the street?
That guy should be proud of what he did and I bet his business will increase.

Bunch of phony hypocrites, that's all you are Whether people drank as teens and also broke the law (19 when I was younger) is irrelevant. When you deal with a teen breaking the law a responsible adult will try to contact the parents and as a last resort will call the police. The driver did the right thing. The real problem is the parents. Unbelievable.

It's about the driver calling the police on some teens that were breaking the law. The driver is responsible for those kids, if one of them gets wasted and does something stupid the parents are going to try and blame him. Why should the driver accept the burden? If parents think its no big deal, why dont they take the responsibility of driving them back and forth? Because, they don't want to be seen as condoning the actions, thats why. What these kids do "behind their back" is another story.
