does anyone here know what happened to the school teacher that works for mac and lindy liquor store in vernon. The kids are telling me he was caught embezzling over 3o thousand dollars. Is he still able to keep his job teaching at the high school? All the kids around the neighborhood are talking about it and so are there parents, if this is true how is he able to stay teaching? Every where i go now it is a topic of conversation, and wondering if anyone heard anything about it.

Don't judge people by their mistakes, unless you walk a mile in their shoes. He is a good person and a wonderful teacher. My prayers are with him and his family at this time.

I agree with you glenwood! Such a good role model and teacher from what I remember! I hope his family and the students he influenced can support him during this time.[if there is even any truth to this at all!]

he is a great role model, probably one of the best teachers in Vernon, but he also made a mistake and poor judgement on his part,he needs not to be with his students right now and get help for him and work things out with his family.

My kids are not in hs yet, although my husband and I both graduated from VTHS. I was unaware about this situation until I saw this online...I read the paper almost daily, but never saw anything about this at all. Was this kept quiet to try to protect him and his family? I can see both sides of the situation...teachers usually are great role models and people students look up to....but of course we are all only human and people make mistakes. Are there any links to news stories about this situation?

I have been hearing about it also, they probably want to keep it under wraps cause he is an excellent teacher, we all have some faults unfortunately. Unless they have not pressed charges on him yet, maybe he offered to pay the money back, if he did, now dont quote me i am just assuming that if you pay the money back you wont have charges filed against you. Not sure about the law, but the school system is another story, do they allow him to keep teaching our kids or suspend him, that is what we are waiting to see.

This is so sad. I am sure he must have been in a terrible situation to do something like this. Prayers to the family.

I and make sure I education my kids that the least expected person can be untrustworthy. Yes it's sad, true. I agree with Reason, terrible circumstances cause people to do terrible things. I'm not saying what he did was justified. I'm just glad it's not something worse like sexual assult or something bad like that. Yes, my heart goes out to the family.

you are right, it is an illness, thank god it isn't sexual assault , hopefully he will speak to someone and himself could understand why he had also done that.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Leo

You'll be action-oriented today, Leo. If truth be told, intense physical activity has the ability to soothe you much more than frenzied mental exercise. Invitations to madness are the wrong thing for you, but they are tempting nonetheless. Dig in your heels and do what you know you have to do. When driving this evening, take extra care.
